WTF! Are they remaking Final Fantasy VII? :D

I just watched the ending of Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core and in the end after Zack dies they show The opening of FFVII (it looks almost as good as the PS3 "demo") and while Cloud's on top of the train he says "I'm Cloud, Soldier... First Class", and then it fades out and says "To be continued in Final Fantasy VII".

 

The thing that makes me suspicious is when it says "To be", to be usually means in the future or eventually, I mean if it said Continued in Final Fantasy VII then I would understand, but that "To be" Totally threw me off course.

I think they are remaking FFVII, I mean FFVII is a gold mine for Square Enix. So why not?

Well I just got some more info on the ending, and apparently you have to beat the game twice and then wait after the credits to see the ending.

We'll have to wait till the next Tokyo Game Show to see if Square Enix says anything. And lord knows the next TGS is around the corner.

i remem reaing something saying they were remaking ff7 on the ps3 but i heard that was scrapped. i dunno of any other ff7 remakes

The youtube video was from Crisis Core which is exclusive to psp, not ps2 or ps3, but if they do remake FFVII I'm willing to bet that they will make it for the ps3. Of course they might not since Square Enix is giving a lot of attention to the psp with Crisis Core and that fighting game.

The youtube video was from Crisis Core which is exclusive to psp, not ps2 or ps3, but if they do remake FFVII I'm willing to bet that they will make it for the ps3. Of course they might not since Square Enix is giving a lot of attention to the psp with Crisis Core and that fighting game.

I hope not I don't have that kind of money... Besides, it would be stupid if I bought a PS3 just for FF7.

That was a 'tech demo' to demonstrate the capabilties of the PS3. In fact, the ending of Crisis Core uses part of that tech demo (the redo of the original FF7 intro with Aeris/Aerith).

It's one of those things where they could be plotting a remake, but it doesn't nessesarily mean there's going to be one.

The way the civilians walk when Aeris is walking outside of Loveless (it's the name of the district in Crisis Core) is different plus the graphic engine is just a tad bit different, the character models in the tech demo have way more detail then the ones in the crisis core ending.

I was curious about this too. I went shopping for PSP games today and saw 3 or 4 different titles for FF. Isnt the PSP supposed to sync up witht the PS3 anyway? IDK, once I saw the games that was the first thought in my mind.

that they are making this game where you play as this guy like Cloud that takes place in the FF7 world
but I didn't catch the name

If they remake FFVII for ps3, then that'll be a 5th reason. . Before I saw the MGS4 vids I posted in one of the topics, I was actually considering tossing my ps3.
