In December, during C87 in Japan, a new Touhou Fighting game demo was released. Here are videos of it, and the wiki page of the game for some story and translations:

As you can see they use the same engine and sprites as in Hopeless Masquerade, except that the artist for CG is no longer alphes, but someone else, and the gameplay doesn't seem to work on popularity nor religion anymore (plus other spellcards and moves too). Current announced characters:

- Reimu Hakurei
- Marisa Kirisame
- Kasen Ibaraki (from Wild and Hornet Hermit, first videogame appearance, from what I remember)

Don't know anything yet of its current gameplay, I need to play it first. The download link for the demo appearantly can be found in the video. There's also an update in the tasofro.net website, so you should grab it too.

It's a new Touhou fighting game, which plays after Double Dealing Character.
It takes Hopeless Masquerade, removes the popularity/religion system, adds a new system that involves orbs, adds new attacks and spellcards, replaces the CG artist Alphes (from Hopeless Masquerade and Hisouten/Hisoutensoku) with Harukawa Moe and...oh, and there are new characters.

Not a Touhou fan but the demo is pretty fun, i like how they turn in a boss-esque mode in the final round.
