A little help?

Hello all,
     
     I hope its ok that I post here, I could not seem to find the appropriate thread.  I have read the tutorials on adding characters to your mugen.  Ive downloaded some from IMT site and some from other sites.  So far about 1/2 work and the other 1/2 does not. I looked at file names, names in the .def files, made sure its not a folder within a folder and checked for lower/upper case and "/" or "\".  Is there any way to find out the reson behind the characters not working? I have watched youtube vids and everything I do seems to be in order.  I am the Mugen nooblet and this is truly all new to me( I have always been aconsole player >.>) Any advice on how to proceed, or where I should be posting would be appreciated.  Good job on what I have seen on the site so far, I plan to stick around and learn how all this works so I can contribute some super secret ideas I have for future games for you all to try out!

same problem i added my characters to character folder an added names to select.def an boom no characters pop up in screen
