Title: "Blacking out" char portaits, select screens

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone could walk me through the process on Fighter Factory ultimate of literally turning select portraits (big and small portraits) to be completely be blacked out. I tried to color the portraits in, but it did not work. I tried moving the portraits away from the 't' area that marks the portrait to see if it can be blank. Maybe I am saving it wrong. Help would  be GREATLY appreciated for the four chars out of 150 I want to be 'secret' characters. tHanks much!!!

Have you tried Coloring over the Sprite using, the transparent color?

I've had no reason to try this out before,
 but in theory it should work.
