AntMan Release (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xogCgiv5M1g#)

This is the first release of AntMan, I've had three creators pass work across for the past 6 months slowly been working him, bit by bit, and have had fun concepting him,
i felt the need to keep the giantman as a special due to not wanting him to be a hyper as it is basically part of his powers, not some super special hyper move,
since there was so many giant man attacks it would fit better as specials, Yellowjacket for me was something that needed to be instilled in him also as he is that character
as archangel is angel and vice versa, thank nicotinefist for his work on yellowjacket (spriting that animation was very difficult, so please enjoy it)
please thank JhonnyDC in the hard work of his conception in his own wip of antman, which basically brought my interest to remake it and improve the work he had started
many thanks to alan Joestar for his exceptional spriting skills and basework, which opened the Giantman concept and the general helmet look,
also thank Valeri for the ant spritework, and hypersonic92 for his voices (which i feel really made this character alive) and a big kudos to Acey for helping cure my coding issues, and general guidance

Great release Arkady!!!

Pretty solid char and it has nice gameplay!!! I like all the ideas u implemented on him especially the Yellow Jacket hyper!!! Its my favorite!!

Small feedback:

1. I noticed that when i use the default pall for Antman, the pall for Yellow Jacket's hyper is green instead of yellow. Dont know why!

2. Plus when Antman becomes gigantic his sprite's quality change due to the resising of sprites.

3. Finally I would prefer when he shrinks/grows diffrent effect could be used instead of the yellow effect. Thats only a personal preference!! :)

Overall its a great char and fun to play with!!  Thanks for bringing him in mugen! :)

Great release Arkady!!!

2. Plus when Antman becomes gigantic his sprite's quality change due to the resising of sprites.

I know it would be a lot of work, but if the "giant" sprites, were replaced for real big sprites insted of resized i think it would be awesome for a further update ...

Any way, i wasnt even expecting this release ... thanks for the weekend surprise Arkady, GREAT WORK!!!!

Just a little feed back

- In his flying ants hyper, the time for the pym particles last less than the power bar shows.
- He's too cyclops, but he's too fun to play as, also I think that a "Giant-Man" hyper would fit well as an "Ant-Man" special
- Same thinking with the Giant-Man sprites
- The Ultron idea and the Jocasta hepler are... just great, love it

I guess that's all. Love the char, love to play as and also I guess it fits better the name "Hank Pym" instead of "Ant-man"

Antman looks amazing Ark, and to have him now to fight the Atom...hell yes!!  I know you get this alot, but can you please make a winmugen patch for him....and here is why, check the video first.....
http://youtu.be/3SvfEQYaXjU (http://youtu.be/3SvfEQYaXjU)

as you see this is the DC vs Marvel screenpack by Arlequin, and to upgrade to 1.0 screenpack means going thru over 200 plus characters and changing all the big half face ports and that would be a pain when i have spent so much time perfecting this game as there is no 1.0 mugen using these half face ports, also....why is it these marvel characters that only work for 1.0 have in the file the DC vs Marvel half port included if they cant be used for this game like the awesome half face port in the antman file wich has giantmans head behind antmans?  I dont wanna sound like Im complaining cuz I know you put hard work into this character, and to have him in this roster would be amazing!

If you have a problem with the screenpack being WinMugen exclusive, take it up with Arlequin.

Arkady, any plans to change the name to just Hank Pym?

Because the character hybridizes Ant-Man and Giant Man as seen in the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated series.

Wow, this is an awesome release, this guy is fun as hell to play.  Thanks a lot for your hard work on this.  My observations are below:

-On all moves which turn him into giant man, it would be good to have at least one hit of hyper armor or a similar effect.  If you play against another decent player or a good AI you really cannot use any of his moves unless you start while your opponent is grounded.  It is far too easy to knock him out of that state and the damage isn't worth the risk.  This is even worse if you fight any character with projectiles.  One hit worth would probably be balanced given the time it takes for him to ramp up.
-Love the Antman Flight hyper!  Is it really meant to dissolve after one helper?  If so I would reconsider the damage as it falls behind the other hypers.
-Ground helpers need more of a stagger when they hit since an opponent can block them any time after being hit by the swarm.  I was even able to spam low kicks while the swarm was on him and he was still able to guard because of the quick recovery.
-Would be nice to see a higher resolution on giant man, but that is a finishing touch request really.
-Shrink Ray sometimes creates a miniature duplicate instead of shrinking the target.
-Jocasta helper should use power, but only if the previously mentioned hyper armor is implemented.  Otherwise he's helpless against ranged or quick characters.
-The win pose where he runs away (small) gets cut off before he is finished talking.

Thanks again to all those who came together to make this happen!

*New Hd sprites for giantman now
* all characters MUST have animation 9999 in the air file for the shrink ray to work (i'm fairly sure, its a required animation, if the character that is bugging out on it, check to see if they have animation 9999 using Fighter Factory, if they don't create one (press + in the air file, and call it 9999, that's it)

Are you aware that anim 9999 is a common blank anim, right?
Title: Re: AntMan 0.8
Post by: Arkady on April 20, 2013, 10:13:19 AM
common blank yes, that is what the animation turns player two while they are shrunk, why is that a problem? it has worked with every character i've test but i seen some feedback that has mentioned that some characters don't work, my theory is that affected character was missing anim "9999"
or i've once again messed up somewhere
Title: Re: AntMan 0.8
Post by: O Ilusionista on April 20, 2013, 10:16:20 AM
nothing wrong if you use it as a blank anim, I thought you used it for another thing :)

The thing about Anim 9999 is that it's not even a required anim and it's not exactly an anim that is used very often.

In fact, KFM doesn't even have it in his anim file.
Title: Re: AntMan 0.8
Post by: HyperVoiceActing on April 20, 2013, 06:56:45 PM
Outside of the fact that the opponents still grow back before the ants get them, the stuff that happens varies on who Hank's fighting.

I think someone over at MFG made a post showing it messing up with different characters (though let's not rule out that MAYBE those characters are bugged themselves  :D )

Would you kindly smack yourself in the head? I would do it myself, but I haven't figured out how to do that over the internet.

It even bugs out on KFM.

You know what, I'm going to have some fun with this move...

I'm sorry, I was not aware that I'm not allowed to joke on the internet.

Everything has to be super serious. Duly noted  ::salute::

Sorry guys, but I am with Darkflare with this

Quote

This was very, very bad comment. Anim 9999 is a common anim, but its NOT REQUIRED. If KFM doesn't have it, its not required. So if a char doesn't have something NOT required...its bugged? Nonsense.

If it bugs KFM, its broken and need to be fixed.

That "maybe the other characters are bugged" thing WAS MEANT TO BE A JOKE

Need to make a mental note, "the internet hates jokes"

guys, guys, please stop it. Darkflare have a totally right point.
In other words, he is right on that. If something bugs KFM, its BROKEN and needs to be fixed.
Title: Re: AntMan 0.8
Post by: Arkady on April 20, 2013, 08:17:19 PM
fair enough, it's not required, i'll see what i can muster up as a solution, thank darkflare for pointing it out, and also hyper for looking for the bugs involved with this move,

good thing this thread didn't locked  :P

Maybe you should disable the move in future updates until you fully fixed the problem. Just a suggestion though

I like the video, i noticed none of the characters are from marvel or dc, good to see you made your point, just looking into kfm he is real basic, not much room for other anims, ill look into it further

Sorry but im with DarkFlare on this and O is right as well about 9999 not being a required anim and so every character might not have it or might use it for somethin else other than what you use it for. This is why this bug is happening....

I hope this get fixed cus that video looks bad..... I would test these things out before the initial release so that next time this won't happen. But like any creator no matter who it is, u can't catch every bug before you release it i guess....But still....that's a big one

Anyway, hope to see it gets fixed

Cute, real cute. I would think you would be more appreciative that someone at least pointed these things to you, but I guess the only thing you care about is praise.

That's the last thing from me anyway, unless I decide to tackle any updates you do.
Oh well, the "shrink" ray bugging out other characters makes this worth it.

Come on now Flare, you know as well as I do that this isn't about the fact that your pointing out errors, it's about the presentation: the snippy video titles, the goofy music, etc. It's like I said over at MFG:

Quote
There's a difference between being direct and being derogatory.

As long as you know which is which, you'll have no problem at IMT.

You know the difference, you just don't seem to care.
Title: Re: AntMan 0.8
Post by: Darkflare on April 21, 2013, 02:53:51 AM
That was only for the glitch and I always do that for every silly thing.
The other one was more serious and didn't have those(except maybe the title, but that one isn't as snippy)

At the end of it all, they're just titles and in the end they're not really insulting anyone. don't sweat the small stuff and focus on what I'm trying to say and it's not like the only one that does it(NxL did something similar for Cy and Balth's Saiyans Z2 and Kamekaze's characters).
