Title: Punisher World Warzone (Alpha 1_O)

This full game is running on Mugen 1.1. The Punisher game is using beat'em up characters as fighting game characters. The play style is similar to Capcom's VS series but less combo heavy & slower pace. To see the move list hit start while in game. The game has 12 playable characters & 5 unplayable characters. A lot of characters & stages have finishers that you can discover. More to come later & enjoy the update.

Thanks! I don't think this game would work without having stuff to pick up and bust up. That's what really gives it that beat'em up feel.

My kind of game. Any chance he will team up with marvel street level heroes such as  Daredevil or Powerman?

I'm thinking about just such things to help spice up the battles. Maybe striker characters like Daredevil etc.. will make cameos, if there not full blown chars.

I hope you make bullseye

Bullseye would fit the theme of the game, i'll add him to the maybe list.

Hi Sensie is okay to give you a suggestion Idea for the lifebars  :)

I know that Im not a big fan of marvel but I do love old classic capcom arcade game. if I had to make A life bar for the Punisher this IS what I would have done  :thumbsup: you can have these sprite Sensie  :w00t:

Cody:
Added Cody to roster

Punisher:
Can now air combo into air knife throw.
Added Air Knife throw to AI.
Win quotes added (Even though screenpack is still in bad shape)
New Guard FX.
Fixed Jump Down with Knife Anim after attack.
Fixed Stand Block hitbox.
Various other tweaks.

Interactive Stages:
Added 2 Ninja Warriors stage #2 & #5 by Vagaz Parrelli.
Fixed Barrel Spawning clone and now spawns a drop.
added music to Sewer Final Fight 3 stage.
added music for Factory Final Fight stage.
added music for Museum Captain Commando stage.


Cody is pretty bare bones like Punisher right now on his move set, but at least he's playable. His rock throw is terrible with low damage and long cool off time. His damage is slightly better than Punisher's on melee attacks. He can also wield the knife from drops.

Okay everyone  :)  Fully completion of the life bars is done only thing the is the character  small portraits on the turn life bars color palette that need to be fix on the mugen character but the life bars is done and completed ...well that if Electro does any more changes to then ... I don't know   ;*))

But at the mean time I'm helping My teacher Electro with this project at moment and I am on stand by until he give me more further instruction. Pretty Boy:
Added Special - Jack Hammer.
Added Hyper - Cyber Slam.
Added standing medium punchs/knife slashs.
Added standing medium kicks.
Added Intro.
Fix walk at different transformations.
Attempted to add get hit tranformations, but so far it's a mess.

Cody:
Added weapon drop anim to taunt.
Fixed Knife color on palette

Punisher:
Added Special - Pistol
Added Hyper - Rifle Unload
Fixed FX with words reading backwards.
Head Pop finisher now has an alternate animation.
Pistol Finisher is set to random on whether or not it will play.
Changed Rifle to be slower on the draw, but increased the speed of the bullet.
Changed Rifle from punch to kick buttons.

Interactive Stages:

Screenpack:
Fixed discolor on turns partner portrait for normal res version.
Started to convert finished stuff from normal res screenpack to 720P version.
The 720P version is avalible for download.

Started playing around with Palette ideas, instead of palettes with diff colored pants etc..., let's ratchet it up a notch by introducing outfits. If people are ok with my resizing the sprites and touching them up a little then I could make alternate costumes instead of palette swaps. Idea worth pursing or waste of time for all those transformations?

Thanks BIG .:O:.! No playable update this week. I've mostly been doing sprite work for some new characters. Here is a rework of Colossus. His original sprites are to small for the game so this is what I've come up with.

Thanks guys! About to jet out for the Fourth. Before I do I want to release an update. Haggar has joined the roster. Some of his melee attacks have placeholder animations till I can get around to spriteing some more attacks.

Haggar:
Added Haggar to roster.
Some moves have temp sprites. I'll update as I go along.

Cody:
Fixed Hyper attack to have the correct guard flag.
Changed when Cody is twirling around in his hyper attack from not being hit by anything to not hit by standing or crouching normal attacks and throws.
Hyper KO FX now plays if killed by Tornado during hyper.
Decreased the Tornado damage.
Changed Vs/Win Screen portrait.
Started to implement stage awarness for moves. So far only Cody and Haggar recognize the TMNT Pirate Ship stage. Cody Throws Waterballs instead of dirt, but missing some FX anims right now. Haggar does water splash FX for slams instead of dirt FX.

Interactive Stages:
Changed sound of health pickup.

                                                       ~Update Alpha 1F~

Added/Removed :

Blaze added to the roster.
Syrian Desert Oil Refinery stage added.
Removed Pretty Boy from the roster until he is furthur along in development.

Characters updated :

Punisher = can now fire his pistol multible times. Pistol uses power after the first shot & will not fire once power is below 100, until holstered again.
Punisher = Fixed bullets giving power when they spawn.

Haggar & Blaze = instantly drop the knife if they try pick it up. I decided to do this until all thier animations are ready.
Haggar now has finisher animations.

Stages updated :

Sunway Station, Subway Train stages changed floor tension.

Screenpack updated :

Widescreen (720) version the lifebars are correctly placed for all modes.

Interactive Stuff :

Syrian Oil Refinery stage has two stage finishers. Activate by defetaing your opponent with any normal melee attack while standing or jumping in the right area of the stage.

I like his progress!! Maybe u can have an attack where he jumps and sits on the opponent or cause earthquake!!

Also theres something on his forward walking that I dont like. Maybe its the pause or the speed! However in general Blob plays awesome!!  :thumbsup:

NX-Men I'll definitely add a butt slam attack. I'll mess around with his walk and see if I can get better results. If not i'll keep it the way it is. I needed to slow Blob down as much as possible because he does a lot of damage on melee and has extreme defense. I slowed Blob down even more by having his rock attack have a long cooling-off period, which is his best long range attack. Before I had Blob moving to fast and he was destroying everyone in the game. ^-^

Hi electro sensei, you been putting a lot your hard work on this project. Im so proud of you

But can I suggest that shuold just focus on one mugen software like Mugen 1.1 with HD setting and zoom effect. I know you want to have run the full game on both program and but do you think is for the best to just work on the mugen 1.1 first ? I feel that very honorable in your behave making for both mugen 1.0 and 1.1. but I feel that working on Mugen 1.1 first is the best one as a suggestion and when the full game is completely done on the mugen 1.1. You can slowly take your time on converted and move it over the mugen 1.0 to save more time :)

Yes I've been busy working on the update which will have a new playable character Sodom/Katana from Final Fight. I'm pretty sure I can pull off all his Street Fighter Alpha move set but it's taking me a little while to make the sprites, but i'm almost finished. I've also been coding Superman for Jmaxximus.

I like that stage with the water effects. Nice touch of the Giant Octopus Background of TMNT TF snes you used

That was a fun stage to make. To bad it's so short.

Blob was probably the most fun I've had working on a character so far. I love making fat guys for some reason. ^-^

There's a lot of sprites done, but he's still sending me new sprites all the time so I can't say for sure how close he is to being finished with them. I've got the basics coded and am currently implementing the special moves now. Hopefully i'll have a early preview soon.

Showing off a few new moves for Cody & Punisher. Cody now has a tornado upper special, 2 new hypers and Jessica as his striker/team member. Punisher has a quick scope new hyper. In this battle you can see that the AI has been improved a little for both characters, but still needs work.

Took a little break from Mugen, but still worked on a few things while I was away. Hopefully get some content released soon. I hope everyone's liking Cody's new moveset. He's getting closer to completion on his special attacks & almost has the same specials as is the SF Alpha games. I want to add another hyper for Cody similar to street fighter 4 Last Dread Dust hyper move. Below is a list of what i'd like to add to Cody to consider him complete.

~
When Cody's wielding a knife, have the knife blow around in the Tornado hypers for extra damage.
Add Last Dread Dust hyper.
More moves for Jessica as well as a combo hyper attack with her & Cody.
More winning & intro poses.

Enjoyed every second of it. The moves are perfect and the game looks very original so far. Would love to see more characters that are not in mugen yet, like Karnov from the first Fighter's History or Rolento from Final Fight. Anyway, looks fantastic so far. Love it.

Check it out! It's Musashi from Captain Commando. I started out making him an unplayable character. Just a boss to battle during arcade mode, but then I started messing with the sprites & now he's a full 6 button playable character. Going to make some more moves soon. Just wanted to show him off.

A preview of interactivity with the characters & stage. Playing on the Amazon stage will change your moveset with some characters as seen here with Blob & Musashi. You can jump on the rocks & splash around in the water. The code for the rocks still needs improvement.

Things are feeling a little more solid now with the gameplay. Since I have to make a full moveset for these beat'em up chars it's been a lot of trial and error with hits and misses, but has kept me interested throughout the process without feeling like a boring task to complete. I'll be posting more details soon about what to expect in the next update. Until then I hope you enjoy this preview video.

In the next update you will be able to fight against the first non-playable character named Kruel Kurt from a game called Vendetta. His anchor attacks do a decent amount of damage & his weakness is his anchor sometimes gets stuck in the floor. Kurt's team-up partner is a diver with a harpoon. Also note that Cody has his classic spin kick added to the moveset which can also be performed in the air.

Rocking the outfit he wore in the Street Fighter Alpha series. Cody is fresh out of jail & ready to put the smackdown on some street scum. Musashi now has another hyper attack added to his moveset. The next Punisher : World Warzone update will be released next Saturday 10/20/2018. Till then I hope you enjoy this preview video.

Previewing Haggar in his Final Fight 3 outfit. He can now pick up the knife & has a new hyper attack with a pipe. When Haggar is wielding the knife his headbutt throw is now replaced with a knife stab.

I finally get to show off Missing Link. He is another non-playable character that you will Vs in arcade or survival modes. The character is strong, has some decent throws & is always advancing with leap attacks. His team-up partner is a Doberman which can either grab your leg or leap around with bite attacks. Also this is the first time Haggar in his FF3 outfit has been shown in a battle.

New interactive intro as well as transformers that explode at random when a character passes by in a gethit state. It keeps the tension high when in that area of the stage. I still need to add a couple of power-up canisters to bust open.

Chester Scully is now in the game, but I haven't decided if he will be playable or non-playable. Scully's not in high demand to be playable so i'm leaning more towards being just another boss you fight against in arcade mode.

After taking a break from mugen for a month or two I've decided it's time to jump back in. I've been working on Pretty Boy for awhile now & he's getting close to being ready for the next game update. Stuff I still want to add to him are gun attacks & a few more moves for his team-up partner Bone Breaker. This is easily the hardest character I've made so far because of all the transformations & sprites he requires. There are still some transformation bugs which you might notice in the video.

Preview of updated Blob. He has a few new moves like a hyper that headbutts you & then tosses you into a crushing smash. Blob can also now call upon Pyro to make a flame Golem which you can control. The Golem doesn't have a whole lot of moves but it's fun to play in a different style for a round or two.

Wrapping up production on Blob & Pretty Boy for this update. I've squashed most of the problems with their transformations & am pretty happy with the outcome. I'll probably spend the next few days tweaking their damage, energy & compatibility with the rest of the roster. The next update for the game should be ready for release in 2 to 3 weeks.

Here are two new interactive stages that will be in the next update. If all my bug testing goes well the next update should be ready next weekend. I'll also release the Streets of Rage 2 stage that's in the video on Tuesday if anyone is interested in it.

I think that R. Jet attack could be transformed into a Izuna Otoshi type of attack (flies and drops with the enemy, making him landing with his head on the ground - its what Hanzo or Strider does).

Nice idea making him grab Bear and flying with him. This could be one of his win poses.

Nice work! I liked how you recreated some of his SFA moves, congrats.
I have two suggestions:

- Change the layerno of the lifebars to 2, so it will be in front of everthing. Front layers are okay in front of the characters, but not over the lifebars.

- Its possible to change his arms positions while he jumps? Because he stay on that position on many frames. I think you can borrow the arms of some frames of one of specials.

Another playable character in the update will be Mustapha. Just need to tweak a few things, add some death sprites & he will be finished. I'm planing on releasing the next update on 11/15/2019. I have a few more surprises coming like the return on some Final Fight stages that were previously removed because of reworked interactive code, as well as some new finishers for bladed characters like Sodom. Try to get some video footage of those posted soon.

The return of Belger Mansion stage to the game. Changed the position of the starting area & made the stage smaller. Before it was a little to large & the chances of seeing the stage finisher was low. Now it starts close to the window for easier access.

Back working on the game again & have a few announcements. The character Jigsaw is far enough in production to announce him as a playable character. He will be replacing Poacher Joe on the roster & Joe will be going to the non-playable pool, but might return as playable later. Last announcement is that the game is changing from 6 buttons to 4 buttons. The reason for the change is to make the game simpler to play.

Finished up Punisher's smart palette for more costume options & reworked his moveset. He has 2 new specials which are a rolling shotgun & a new throw. The rolling shotgun was a way to give Punisher a launcher move. The new throw has a variety of attacks which you can see in the preview video. I also gave Punisher a new air hyper, since he has a new launcher move with the rolling shotgun I thought it would be cool to have these moves potentially combo. Older hypers have also been updated to look cooler or be more effective.

The game update will be released sometime next month. Punisher character is now complete. I like the way he plays & don't see a need a to add anymore moves. However I will be adding more to him in the way of intros, win poses, costumes & little stuff like that. Punisher's Hit & Run hyper has been altered if your on a stage where is Van can't drive. For example, in the video the Van should not able to drive on top of the elevator. Instead an alternate hyper will play.

Punisher costume options:

1 = Smart palette
2 = Classic
3 = Thunderbolt
4 = Warzone
5 = What If (Punisher was an agent of Hydra)
6 = Captain America

Wolverine Costume options:

1 = Smart Palette
2 = Classic
3 = X-Force
4 = Brown suit
5 = What If (Wolverine was an agent of Hydra)
6 = Blue & Yellow

Mardia is guarding the Ninja House. Not sure if she will be playable or not. I started this character as quick nonplayable character to fight early in the arcade mode. After a couple of days work it's starting to look like she might be playable. The melee attacks are going to be limited of course, but other than that she's got a good amount of moves.

Yamato is a new playable character. He's got some decent range with his melee attacks which do good damage. His smoke bombs can keep opponents trapped & his ninjas provide good support.

@O Ilusionista That's a good idea. I don't know if you seen her throw in the video, but there is a move similar to it already with her normal throw. So maybe your idea would work well for a special throw.

Now that Mardia & Yamato are in the game it was time to give Musashi a badly needed update. All his old moves have been overhauled to work differently. He can now throw his sword in Bishamon fashion to pull enemies close or lunge to his sword. He has a new hyper called Ancestors Wraith where he summons his ancestors to slice up his opponent.

The game is getting another overhaul. I'm removing the power cost to use your team-up partner. Probably going to nerf Damage or the Get Power of the team partner to compensate. The Kingpin of Crime is also being added to the game and will be in the next update. Here is a very early preview of Kingpin. Things I want to add to him is a hyper that randomly hires super villains to jump on the battlefield and attack.

Have you saw how Kingpin works on Marvel Strike Force? you can draw some ideas from there.

Even though he is an excellent hand-to-hand fighter (he once defeated a large group of Hand ninjas practically in his underwear), in the game he uses his greatest power: the power of money corruption.

He abuses his bodyguard - when he enters the scene, he already summons one (which receives all attacks for having Taunt) and he can call 2 to 3 additional bodyguards, up to the limit of 9.

Adapting to your project, maybe he can appear in the fight with a minion on screen. After all, he really plays dirty :)

Another preview of Kingpin. He now has 2 new hypers. The first one is a team hyper where Kingpin calls in a super villain to attack. For now the villain is Crossbones, but more will be added in the future. The second hyper is an air grab and then Kingpin slams the opponent onto the ground then stabs them with the sharp end of his cane. I've also added a new throw special where Kingpin charges the opponent and then tosses them against the wall. I forgot to mention in my last post that Kingpin will be playable.

Last preview of Kingpin before release. I've added a stage finisher trap to Kingpin. It activates if you do a standing or crouching melee attack for the final hit of the match. This trap only works if your on one of Kingpin's 3 stages. Planning on releasing the game update in mid March. I've also decided to release a normal Mugen version of Kingpin like I did with Punisher and Haggar for those who don't want to play this game, but still would like to use Kingpin.

Added a dinosaur stage finisher & a vapor chamber stage finisher to the game. I've also gone back over the older stage finishers and tweaked them to play/trigger better. I've also added a few new stages to the game, so every character on the roster should now have a proper stage when playing through the Arcade mode. I've also made Jigsaw & Sodom playable characters. My plan is to release the update next Friday 3/17/2023.

Captain Commando is being added and is playable. Going to try and add most of his moves from MVC2, but I also want to give him a few unique moves to keep things fresh. Thanks to O Ilusionista, who let me use his Captain Commando sprite edits.

Final preview of Captain Commando. I added his throw from MVC2 which you can see early on in the preview. He now has a Mech hyper attack which does a variety of different attacks. The original Captain Corridor attack is now a special move. Finally the Captain Storm hyper will now do either electric or flame for the last attack.

The next update will come with another playable character which is Bludge. He is from the game Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and kinda looks like Blanka so I gave him Blanka's voice. His moveset will be pretty limited, but it's still cool to have another character to mess around with in the game. This preview is also showing off a new interactive stage where a Brontosaurus is trying to step on you if you come on land. The water on both sides will splash when in or near it. The Brontosaurus can also squish the fighters for stage finisher if it's the finial hit of the match.

A really cool addition to the game. He always reminded me of Blanka too :)

And I loved the scenery, especially the dinosaur stepping on the fighters.

Last preview of Bludge. He has a few new moves which are a special that uses his tongue to throw enemies. He also has a hyper version of the throw which you will see in the preview video. There is also another throw hyper where he uses his tail to trip the opponent and then whips his tail repeatedly on them. Unfortunately that move didn't show up in this preview, but you will get to see it soon because the next update release will be in May.



Select Screen :
I've also been updating the select screen because the game has way more characters in it than I originally planned on making and I still want to add more. So it needed to be updated to make room. The standard Mugen 1.0 and 1.1 versions unfortunaly had to have the portraits cut way down in size, but it also makes it to where I could add back in the characters standing on the screen again which is cool. The 720P version of the game will still keep the original portrait sizes.

Sorry for the delay! The update will be out this Friday 6/30/2023. In this update I will be introducing hyper cancels for the first time in any of my characters. This feature has been suggested to me for years, but this is the first time I'm getting around to adding it. Right now only Bludge and Captain Commando will have this feature but I'll slowly be updating older characters to also have it. At the end of the Bludge spotlight video I demonstrate a couple of hyper cancels. Lastly I made two spotlight videos for Cap and Bludge demonstrating their full move set.
