Power meter
the power bar is back. We are currently brain storming ideas on what to do with it since we want to implement something unique to other fighting games. EX-attacks, Supers and Ultras are all possibilities. Any ideas you might have are more than welcome.

Maybe something like T7 Rage Art? I think it should be something simple with easy combination like X-Ray in Mortal Kombat.

EDIT: How about enrage? I mean big damage for a short time (like, you know... really big damage). It's just one of my ideas. I will keep thinking.

Today I implemented a EX-cancel system which works awesome. It literally made the game twice as fun to play. So far the cancel requires 1 full bar of meter out of a possible 3.  So so far the system works like this.

Level 1 and above;=Ex cancel
Level 2 and above;= ??
Level 3 and above;= Special Combo (kinda like T7) with no rage initiation.

Any suggestions for a level 2? I'm not really a fan of the rage system in Tekken. The damage boost is far too much.

It's a system that lets you cancel out of most grounded attacks. I'll post a video later on tonight.

VERSUS alpha build vr1
This is how the alpha build looks so far. It will be the version I release this December. However I might change the alpha roster since I have revamped KFM and he may not be ready in time for the scheduled release.
- This release will also included the EX-cancel system.

I like the new lifebar. Menu is nice and looks like portraits are new. Keep it up.

J.O.U standing sprite


VERSUS ALPHA UPDATES

The special meter has been updated


EX-MOVES
certain moves can be turned into an EX-move by holding (Z) whilst performing the move. So far Ex moves take 2 bars of meter.
All Ex-moves are (mid) hitting and deal out more damage as well as being safer on block.



JUMP IN ATTACKS
A new jump in attack has been added to each character in addition to the aerial hopkick. This kick is faster and can be used to link moves similar to street fighter



EX-CANCEL
Ex-cancel now has a pause delay and is also indicated by a blue flash. It can only be done after certain moves.


MYSTIC SPRINGS
Updated Mystic Springs stage
-animated Water fall, light shafts and more a detailed floor

I aimed to get this game out in December but a severe family crisis occurred at the last minute so I hope to get this out within the next 2 weeks. I haven't even had time to make a video with all the new updates and a lot has changed in this project.

Sprite update overhaul
I've added more detail and shader effects to the sprites such as Rim lights and a hair shader to make them stand out more.




In game move-list - Accessible by pressing start
EX-C = EX Cancel
EX-T = EX Trigger


POST-BATTLE QUOTES
Multiple post-battle quotes for each character.

No I tried 500 and it made the game far too combocentric. With 1 bar it at least forces the player to think about meter management, should they ex-trigger or Ex-cancel. It also forces them to work to regain that meter in order to reap that reward.

Thanks, I plan to release it this week by at least saturday. I have to make some adjustments and more importantly finalize the official copyrights of my work.

Sorry once again behind schedule. Which is why I don't like giving dates :-$
But I can assure you we're almost there with a first release. Here's what has been keeping me busy and some of the things you should save or memorize before release.

Save this - control setup for versus
This is how you should set up your controller to play this game.


Here's what's been delaying me
I've been re-rendering the sprites and adding more detail, highlights and new shaders since I really believe first impressions count.


I still have donald to re-do but I wont delay a release any further. I'll release the project this week  :| and update the remaining sprites afterwards.

-Thanks, no. sputnik is arched backwards and given that one of his arms are much longer it would physically be behind his leg.

-Yes I plan to eventually make tutorials on how I create and the tools I use.
