I'm getting a PS3 this crimbo...... what games should I get?

  At last, I'm getting a ps3, well, the missus is going halves with me on it, we're getting a pack with fifa 08, tiger woods 08 and nfs pro street.

Can you guys gimme some game recomendations?

good games for the PS3 are few & far between...how about gettin' a 360 instead of 500 dollar paperweight  ...much better system and XBox is unrivaled, plus, the ratio of good games on the 360 to the PS3 is about 5 - 1

Well, ps3 is newer, and it's free to play online, why pay £30-40 for a game and then have to pay extra to play online? two words rip off.
I was undecided until about 2 days ago, then when we decided to buy ourselves a gift, the mind was made!
I do wish the controller was a bit better though ( read, " I wish it was a 360 controller", haha )
I'm considering assassin's creed....

I have Oblivion, but I honestly would much rather have the 360 version.

Yeah I Agree, Not to mention the 360 may have lots of games, but not variety, they're all shooters( There's only Dead Rising worth mentioning though. ).
