i have a 34" tube at 1080i, with the ps3 hooked up.

just give the ps3 a year and people will be siding with sony.

yea it just bothers me how if i got a ps3 (regardless if its 600 dollars for 400) i wont get the full effect of it unless i got a baddass tv set up like that. other wise it feels like wasted $. with the 360 on the other hand, i have the option to buying an hd dvd player IF i want it.

what sucks about that is that there is a 400 dollars ps3 and if you want hd-dvd on xbox 360 you need to pay an extra 200 dollars. thats 550 dollars for the pro and 650 for the elite. and if you want wi-fi add another 100 dollars. thats 750 dollars for the pro. that is a big rip off. plus you don't need an hdtv for the ps3. and if you don't have an hd-tv for the 360 you are not experiencing it to the fullest either. i have a 42 inch hd tv and it looks way better than in my regular tvs.

just wait 'till PSHome is released in the PS3 and GX3 will be siding with Sony.

No But Really I like all 3 consoles, I just won't pay that much for a console, I admit it is worth it though.

As of now the 360 kicks the PS3's butt in terms of games but when it comes to future games, the PS3 seems like it's gonna have a brighter future.

It will all come down to Wii/PS3 by then. :P

System quality wise: PS3, because the 360's life span is a year or less (3 red lights). Then you have to go ship it in... then wait for a month or two to get it back.

Game library wise... still PS3. 360's contains too many shooters, plus all that was exclusive on 360 that I wanted will be available on PS3 in the future (Bioshock, etc.). I prefer more single player games like Ratchet & Clank, Jak, etc.... plus I don't want to miss Tekken 6 (I own all Tekken games but the PSP game, which is on PS3 anyways). Uncharted looks awesome too.

Can't wait to get a PS3... whenever I can get one. I won't lie though, i'm going to get a PS3 before I get my 2nd 360. I will miss Dead Rising and Gears of War for awhile :(

keep in mind the 40GB ps3 which is priced at $400 can't play ps1 and ps2 games.

the 80GB will.

i mean it comes with a blu-ray dvd player($200-$500) and sixaxis controller($50 or lower) + plus it plays video games instead of a blu-ray dvd player.

Blu-ray dvd storage: Single-layer (25GB) - Dual-layer (50GB)

HD-dvd storage: Single-layer (15GB) - Dual-layer (30GB)

so it means when sony sells a ps3 they are really are getting little to no profit at all.

Actually you can play PS1 games.

But that is one thing straying me away from purchasing it right at the moment is the no backwards compatibility for PS2 games. I'd like to have just one console out, not two. I mean, I don't even have my GC out because the Wii plays the games. It saves space.

They could of at least kept BC in for the 40gb model. Maybe a download in the future like 360 does?

i don't think so.

just go for the 80GB if you want to play the ps2 games on a ps3.

its really interesting to see what the customer (towards the bottom) had to say about the systems. i think its kind of funny how each system comes with a catch. for people that dont have the whole 1080p tv set up, the 360 is best. but the 360 has alot of known problems. with the ps3, in order to get its full potential, especially for its blue ray capacity, you need to spend alot more then just 500$. so ionno, i guess it really depends on the person lol

dude. trust me you are missing out on the full pontential of the 360 without an hd tv. and the 360 is the most expensive with its expensive accesories. for a pro with hd dvd and wifi it would cost a total of $650 dollars not to mention a measly 20 gig hard drive. i am getting a ps3 next year because it will have way better games  next year.

I'll be trying to lay my hands on a 60GB PS3 this Christmas (there's one or two knocking around the UK GAME shops). Not for its TV HD capabilities, but because at least I'm guaranteed all my fav games: GTA4, MGS4, the next Tomb Raider, and FF7 the remake should they actually remake it.

And if I do ever upgrade my TV, at least my games will look even better :P Can't say that about an Xbox.

As for Wii, I think Smash Bros Brawl is enough to entice me (c'mon, Solid Snake and Sonic? My two fav. characters? In a fighting game? Someone snuck into my dreams, didn't they?). The price is a little bit high at the moment due to demand, but when it drops again I shall probably treat myself (always did want to play MGS: the Twin Snakes anyway).

actually im sticking with wanting to get a 360. the elite comes with a 120 gb hard drive thats not measely, if anything thats alot more then youll ever need unless you truelly want to spend that much time online dl demos and what not onto the 360. and actually the game outlook for the ps3 isnt that great. the ps3 has about 7 different processors in it (i believe) that make it that much harder to make games for it. theres been so much beef already with different sony branded games that have seriously said "f**k it were going to 360" for example companies like grand theft auto. the finaly fantasy series was about to go onto the 360 but sony basicaly sucked their dicks and didnt. so if anything the 360 has and will have a better game outlook becuase its simply too difficult to make games for the ps3. working at best buy, its kind of sad how the biggest reason why people buy the ps3 is just becuase they can use it to play their ps2 games. and with the 360, of course you get the full experience through an hd tv, but its something where hey, if you dont have it, its still ok. itll still look tight. not only that but its easy to use. and the hddvd player you can buy for it isnt that expensive (179.99) which is below the avg of the hddvd players (theyve ranged from 200+). on top of all that its really user friendly unlike the ps3. and with the ps3 you DIFFENANTLY dont get the same effect on it on a reg tv as opposed to a fancy hd blue ray plasma blah blah blah tv....

I got a PS3 for Christmas and it's great  =D>
It has bettah graffix! (in my opinion)
The thing about PS3 is the games take too long to make, but it's worth it. Cool games are just coming out Ps3 eclusive!(Somewhat...  <_<|...|)
I got a regular tv and it works fine woth Ps3! I got a big one for enhanced preformance!  ;D

metal gear and final fantasy is all i need. the only fps shooter i like is halo and halo 4 is not gonna come out for a while. plus what games that measure up to mgs and final fantasy are coming to the 360. and you have to admit that the freaking accesories are expensive as hell. since i have an hd tv i would like to experience hd dvd but i aint payin no extra 200 dollars for it. plus why is a freaking wi-fi adapter 100 dollars and a 20 gig hard drive 100 dollars. and don't get me started on the crap out rate. i have gone through three 360's since i got it two months ago. if it weren't for halo i would have never gotten the 360. all exclusives are coming to pc and it has too many fps for me.

well theres been plenty. gears of war, halo, assasins creed (which by the way was meant to be JUST for the ps3, but they of course sayed screw it and went to sale for the 360..it even came out a wk before the ps3 version release)

well the elite system will have all the memory you need for 379, seeing as you have the whole tv set up and you get an hd dvd player its another 179, that puts you at about 560. the 80 gb ps3 alone is 599 and it comes with blue ray. now...blue ray dvds cost on average 10 dollars more then hddvds do. so in essence like i sayed before, it comes down to image quality. if you got it, of course go for the ps3, but if you dont, a 360 is a more economical choice. the only time you have to spend 100-200 dollars on a hard drive is if you buy the arcade bundle 360. which no gamer in their right mind would do anyways? how would you expect to save on a system that comes with just 256 mb of memory? not only that but 360 games come compatible in 720p and 1080p anyways so if youre still looking for the picture quality, you'll still get it. now i admit ps3 has a better image (i mean crap, how can it not with 7 processors) but its technology that honestly is only reached at its full potential on a blu ray plasma tv, in which case not that very many are out yet. the VAST majority of tvs are hd, (which is what you have), so in essence, the 360 would most likely look better on that then with ur ps3 anyway. ps3 is mainly made for the future...about a year or 2 down the road (expect good games to follow in that path too) while the 360 is meant for today.

another thing concerning the wifi, sure its something thats seperate but its not something you HAVE to have. just have an ethernet cable and connect it to the router. now if in deed it is wireless and you do need that wifi adapter o'well. itll be worth it. becuase think about it dude, both the ps2 and the xbox were compatible with internet...but guess which one kicked more butt in that department? yes sir, xbox! xbox has xbox live, marketplace, and its pretty much the hot spot for gaming and downloading. think of it like this, if you need to rent a movie wheres the obvious choice? blockbuster or hollywood video? which one comes to mind first? exactly. so if your talking internet, xbox owns.

you need to get a high end tv to get the best out of ps3? that's the first time i know this :-??
what would exactly do? post the resolution? improve graphic?
i doubt it will improve the graphics lol.
i don't know guys but that's just pointless since the games will still lock better on x360.
i was waiting for an assassin creed Comparison and still x30 was he better one for that game..i watched the vs video on youtube and really the game looked much better on 360.

hey here's a thing by 2009 all TVs on the store market WILL be HD ready.

its the government, by 2009 they will require all TV's in stores to be HD ready.

if i remember right plasma TV's are dropping in price.

i mean i have a 34" tube with able to do 1080i.

if you don't want to buy a new TV buy a HD converter.

they are all in stores.

keep in mine if you have not played a ps3 before you really don't know nothin.

TRY it BEFORE you BUY, Nuff said.

you need to get a high end tv to get the best out of ps3? that's the first time i know this :-??
what would exactly do? post the resolution? improve graphic?

yes sir. just like when you buy an hdtv and they tell you to sign up for hd tv service. you get the best picture quality out of it. there is a considerable amount of difference when you watch regular cable on a hd tv and then flip the channel to an hd program and watch it.
