Fighter Factory 3 palettes not showing up
« on: June 08, 2013, 01:01:19 AM »
I was working on my character in Fighter Factory 3 and saved each file of the character individually. I must have not been paying attention when saving the palettes because only the default palette appears when I load the character in Mugen. In Fighter factory I can see my palettes, and the .act files are defined in the .DEF File. What could have happened?

If you are using 1.0, and using FF3 your default sff file should be 1.0 format, your palettes do not use "act" files. They are embedded in the sff file. Assuming you have the palette keymap defined (check out KFM for what that looks like) and you haven't used an OLD common1.cns from somewhere, all you need are the character palettes labeled 1,1 to 1,12 in the palette window.

Mugen does the rest with remappal. An sctrl that allows you to swap palettes on the fly.

Ah I see, Okay I fixed it, thanks! Yeah, originally It was being made for WinMugen but I decided to make it Mugen 1.0 only. I removed this

pal1=Palettes\1_LP.act
pal2=Palettes\2_MP.act
pal3=Palettes\3_HP.act
pal4=Palettes\4_LK.act
pal5=Palettes\5_MK.act
pal6=Palettes\6_HK.act

but kept the old common1.cns and my palettes started to work again. Did you mean not to use the old common1.cns if I wanted to use the swap palette sctrl?

I have another question, so should I just over write states from now on? Initially I used the Common1.cns to add sounds to things like jump, run, because I wasn't really sure what I was doing at first but then I learned you could overwrite those states to give your character a something like a dash instead of a run. Is it better to just overwrite any states that I want to edit rather than using the systems common1.cns?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. I see what you mean now. Thanks again! xD
