Basically to me it keeps me entertained, but it's mostly fun to play against/with friends, usually I'm on Steam playing some TF2. :P

depending on the game i am playing does several things.  Fighting games help me vent when angery, hyper for some good competition and great stress reliever.

i like video games in general cause they take me to that fantasy world  sometimes and i love the art and graphics of alot of games. sometimes i get lost just looking around at stuff when i play 3rd person action games. lol. I enjoy the full creativity of some and with others its just cause they are pure fun and brings out the kid at heart.

cause they are fun and it's about the only thing I'm good at.

I'm currently on a very long quest to play every "good" video game ever.

Well this is why for me

Its 1989, I wake up....I'm 4 years old at this point. that day happened to be my big brother's birthday. He was 4 years older than me. I was at home, then I suddenly remember him coming thru the front door all excited....

Now, I didn't realize it was his birthday until afterwards, because when I turned 4, that was when I just started to remember stuff.

So anyway, he comes inside with this thing, which came with a controller, and some kind of gun. I didn't kno what any of this stuff was because I never had seen anything like it...

He quickly gets with my big sister who was 9 years older than me at the time and they hook this thing up to the tv. As I watch and wonder what the heck are they doing, i'm amazed at stuff they pulled out of the box.

They then pull this thing out what looked to be like a cartridge, (Of course I didnt kno what a cartridge was back then either cus I was 4) But anyway, apparently it was something called a videogame my brother told me....

And while I was holding my action figure in hand (Lion-O I think it was)  When he turned the gadget on....I DROPPED EVERYTHING! I looked at the screen and I saw for the first time what would become the most greatest entertainment ever made...... VIDEO GAMES!!!!!! and he had gotten a NINTENDO!!!! With Super Mario World and Duck hunt combo pack with both games on there!!!!

And so guys, since that day I've loved gaming ever since. Why you do ask Acey?...Well... ITS ALL BECUZ OF MY FREAKIN BROTHER!!! lol! LOOK AT WHAT HE DID!!!! HE DID THIS TO ME!!!! LOL!!!

But yeah guys, this is why THE R@CE plays video games! YA DIG?!!!!!  :cool

Interesting...

1998...I'll never forget it...(RE4 Reference)...

Me, My Brother, My Sister, Two Controllers, One Game, One Television, Angry Parents, Plenty of Entertainment...

It was "Super" because neighbors from our "Street" kept coming over as if they wanted to see their favorite "Fighter" or wrestler...it was an awesome experience...for more than "Two" people of course...

I started with Sonic and Mortal Kombat as a 4 year old, and liked them ever since. They're fun and sometimes even inspiring or creative. But mostly fun.

All because of this:

While I had played other games before that, it was Super Mario Bros that really got me hooked.

All because of this:

While I had played other games before that, it was Super Mario Bros that really got me hooked.

Me 2! Super Mario was my first, my brothers too. My bro was just 2 and i was 7. He would watch me and my dad play. Sometimes i would switch to duckhunt. (it was the combo cart) Dad got it cuz it had been marked down and came with the grey light gun, he may have got it second-hand im not sure. No rob though. Anyhoo my bro would always try to ask me to jump up above the bricks in the undergound levels. I thought it was just a border space but he beleved that cuz there's bricks there, you can walk ontop. I didn't beleve him. So at 2 years old he started playing, and on 1-2 discoverd the warpzone before anyone else in the apartment complex. Even my friends in school didn't even beleve it till untill they tryed what my bro figured out.

I realized games had so much potental. Anything could happen in them, be hidden in them. The best ones are easy to play, yet difficult to master. LOL he even discoverd the warps in mario 2 first. Before he could read and before any local stores carryed nintendo power.

I love the escape that games provide. I wouldnt say my life sucks, but parts of it did. Video games have helped me get though those. A great game makes you feal accomplished when you beat a level or finish it. The first time i got fireworks on a stage in mario made me feal awsome.  I didn't get to play alot of the other great games though for a while. I didnt get to play mega man till 7 and legend of zelda untill link to the past. I think its important to go back and play older games.

Like when i was really young my dad found an Atari 2600 and a huge box of games in a dumpster. I already had a nintendo but it gave me lots more to play with. I enjoyed having to use my imagination to fill in the rest. When the day comes that i have kids of my own, im going to start them out on a classic game like super mario.

I probably got into video games because my uncle thought it would be funny to stick the controller in the hands of a one year old.

I've literally been playing video games my entire life.

Video games are fun and its another way for me to relax and keep stress off my mind.

But it all started for me withe colecovision games and Atari. But the deal was offical when NES came out and i played Super mario bros and megaman 2 for the first time. Not only i learned video games are hella fun but godamn it had some damn cool @ss music also! mega man 2 was the it factor for me^^

It was another way for me to stay off the streets and gettin into trouble like i usually did back then too

I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember.  My brothers had the SNES, Genesis, N64, and PS1 when I was little, so I naturally took interest in them.  I remember even being afraid of MK1 on Genesis when I was like 4. lol.  Needless to say, once I got over that, I took an interest in fighting games because of MK1 and MK2.  When my brother got MvC on PS1, things really took off from there.

Well...its all started back when I was the tender age of 4 or 5. It began with the Atari 2600...that was the first system I had ever played and it just grew from there. Overtime I have played nearly every system known to man. Sega systems, Sony Systems, Microsoft systems and every game I could get my hand on for those systems. I was an still am a game junkie. But overtime it turned into more so of a therapy session so to speak because I developed a lot of stress as a kid on the daily and it followed me from the 3rd grade up until now. And I never really had a non-violent way of releasing that stress. Turned out whenever I played a video game I felt stress free. Thats not so much the case now but I still play video games because I love the ideas, creativity, thought and technology that goes into them. I just have a passion for games.

Because it's my only source of entertainment. The games I'm best at are Pokemon, arcade-style fighting games, beat 'em ups and shmups. I'm a nostalgic type of person but I'm not afraid to try new games... unfortunately the new games don't fit in the types of games I enjoy...

Acknowledged Kai, the internet seems to provide more stuff for me to enjoy, and I find F2P games more fun than usual. My classmate in March introduced me to the hacker-infested Combat Arms, and despite that part of the game, I had been able to enjoy the game now that I've become proficient. Also, Vindictus is one of those rare games that despite being F2P, it looks like it could be a commercially successful hack and slash.

Now, there's the CoD-like F2P game Arctic Combat.
