I'm not a huge Xbox fan, but the Xbox didn't do it. Obsessive personality did, they would have done the same with just about any other activity. Just the same as the people who starve children or animals for video games would do the same for anything else.

I've played longer sessions then that before when I was around that age. Of course, I had the smarts enough to at least move around, or go to the bathroom. I could see if he didn't do anything other than sit in the same spot and game out how that could mess someone up.

But yeah, his dad is upset, but Microsoft can't be blamed for it. Hell, video game companies nowadays really can't be blamed for a lot of crap that happens since parents overall have really stopped caring. Then when something does happen, parents don't wanna be held accountable.

If that is at the Xbox comment, I don't hate Xbox, its just my least favorite of the current Gen. It was the first one I got of the 3. :D

Should have bought him a Kinect. ;*))

this is, like I say in portuguese, transference of guilt.

The person can't stand the truth or can't handle the truth and transfer his own guilty to another thing or another person.
Then is gets easier to blame.

Saddly, a lot of people does this.

Yeah, that's sure a picture of a healthy looking person all right, geez. People need to quit being so damn pathetic and blaming others for their stupidity, recklessness, and anything else. We are all responsible for our own self. It makes me sick listening to garbage like this. "Oh I'm a fat piece of crap that died because I'm too much of a loser to put a video game down and stretch my legs and maybe even eat something to keep my body healthy," If you're that pathetic, good riddance, the world is a better place now without you. People also do this trying to make a quick buck so they think they'll just be able to breeze through life at the expense of others. If I was Xbox, I would just send them another xbox in a box addressed to the guys brother or sister. If anyone is to be falsely blamed, blame the parents that are also too pathetic to discipline their own kids, and would rather have television shows do the raising of their children for them. If someone overdoses on heroine, are you going to blame Afghanistan for their poppy fields, or the dumb sh*t who made his OWN choice to shoot the poison into himself? I can't stand how stupid this world is, people are just too pathetic for words these days. Just like Tool, "I wanna see it all go down, Won't you flush it all away"  I'd almost rather be dead than surrounded by the dead and non thinking morons in this world. Too fat and lazy to quit playing a video game, and it's xbox's fault? Give me a frickin break you idiot (not you guys reading this).
If you can't control yourself, and need someone else to govern and think for you, you are chattel, but definitely not alone by any means. Sorry if this post sounds harsh and cold, but come on, seriously.

I think it is our job to warn parents of the dangers of their children sitting for hours and hours on end every day reading books. Moby D ick was addictive! and that Harry Potter stuff, I could feel the blood clots after the first hour.

I know, but he was...20 years old! He wasn't a kid to blame the evil Xbox from hell.

20 years...where was his responsability? Come one, with 15 years old I was teching music already.

Sorry if I sound rude, but with 20 years you SHOULD be a responsible man. Or, excuse me, you should be dead for sure.

that means that person didnt give his brain time to breath (rest) or even get sleep...the most that happened to me long ago when dreamcast first came out and i would play countless hours online with my friends and then some (reg play offline) was my eyes were real jacked up and blurry like i was going blind with a major headache for days it seemed. ever since that day i dont do that anymore [-X. the moment i start gettin sleepy im off the console...

from the quake unreal tournament game & Spawn: in demons hand online i lost craaaaazy sleep...i was addicted lol..

but yeh a person that worked for BET i believe died like that because he was a workaholic and didnt get sleep for almost 10 days er some wild sh*t like that. he kept drinking coffee n stuff like that to stay up and one day on a flight to a business deal he had a brain aneurysm

i have 2 children one 14 and one 10. my daughter isnt a gamer really but my son, hell yeah.  my daughter has sat and played sonic pretty much all day cause she didnt wanna do much and it was the weekend and it was raining out so she wanted to stay and try to finish some boards. played for about 6 hours but went to bathroom, ate and stretched a bit here and there. My son can sit  for about 8 hours but he still cant stay still for long. he will pause it for whatever reasons.  Dude was 20? and he couldnt figure out when was...when to let up? man i have a brother that stayed up for 2 days straight playing Final Fantasy 7 and he barely even moved and he was a lil over 20, like 22 i believe.

he had all his drinks in the mini fridge in our room and bought 30 dollars worth of meat and bread to make sandwiches. so he could relax and focuse on the game.  he was old enuff to make that choice to sit there like that.  I can rock out a whole day on various games sittin on the couch too but there is a when is when limit. You cant blame video games or consoles for your problems that can be coreected by being resposible enough to relax from it. no matter how "addictive" the game is. My same brother plays taliman and some other online MMorpgs and he has never moved for like hours! so dude might have had somethin else going on that aint been said. parents can limit the under age kids but grown a#@ adults just should know better. People always wanna shift blame cause its far easier to do that then to own your own faults and face the guilt. Plus.. people love money the suing way.  :D if there is an angle. then some people will definetly try to exploit it.

I think the longest I ever did was me and my cousin, we played Tekken 3 for about a full day, going through Arcade and stuff. We got up early decided to play, and played until about 6AM the next day.
