Video Games boost brain power

I heard this story on NPR this morning and it's research that I agree with so I thought I'd share it with you all as well.

Apparently fast paced action games increase your mental capacity in a variety of relevant ways. It alos redirects certain cognitave processed to different sections of your brain, making it more efficient. Click the link to hear the whole story.

Im 22 now & I noticed this about myself when i was younger. Playing games like Shining Force, Final Fantasy or any turned based RPG it puts you in a state of mind that you have to think before you act, therefore you make better decisions and for me that thought process stuck in my head all through school and it really taught me how not to rush through things and take my time out figure them out. Even with fighting games, you always had to know how to memorize certain button combinations and that helps the brain with overall memory. So yeah games are fun and in cases like mine they indirectly help train our brains how to function better. Just gotta be careful not to over do it cuz an overworked brain is a stressed brain and a brain cant function properly under stress cuz youll never figure things out but if you relax ya mind and take ya time youll have much easier time. I know from experience.......I think I just lvled up   ;*))

yeh been knew this since Nes days. I used to play a lot of Rpgs and adventure games. Reaction time and big word reading played a part in figuring stuff out very fast. You cant end a RPG successfully if you cant read right? haha. Math is also involved. Especially back in the days with games like Contra. Super mario. Ninja gaiden and other "One hit kill" games where in order for you to end the game you surely will have to stay alive without gettin hit. Same for fighting games. There are some games where as you have to get perfects in order to unlock certain chars and features. Pin point accuracey is key. patience is key. haha especially with a game like Dead rising 2 you can just run through it ;*)). Tough as hell

Lots and lots of supers so f*ckin what

HAIL CROM!!
