Arthur - Ghosts n' Ghouls
« on: August 12, 2007, 11:31:13 AM »
Arthur has gone through some beta testing and is well on the way now. Sorry that the old forum issues changed the release date (which is currently in discussion between Sludge and I)

I feel that you should not, under any circumstances, succumb to public outcry regarding the character's release until you (and only you) feel it is ready for public retrieval.

Take care.

I still think the torch fire needs a little changing. I see the fire from the torch in super ghouls and ghosts. Were it spreads back and forth and rises up. I feel the two small fires on the ground when he throws the torch doesn't do it much justice. Please consider. I love the char over all.

Thanks DG!

I must agree with Joe; the fire should arise in a swift, powerful pillar -- engulfing the enemy and doing moderate damage in the process. Perhaps this could be used as a super technique?

I'm going to agree with Bobby_Zee on that one. Just because we whine a lot because the character makes us drool doesn't mean you should release it to us if you don't think it's ready yet.
Haha, I was so happy when I saw that video I tried to film a runthrough of Cannon Spike with Arthur. but with two people you share continues, and me and my friend kept dying at the last boss. >.O But yeah, I'm reeeeeeeally looking forward to Arthur.

I couldn't agree more, this way any bugs that may exist will be found and you guys can have as much time as you need to tweek the character.

Impatient people will just have to wait.  I also suggest a more permenant link to the character when you do release it.

So Acey what's the new release date?
I'm sorry that i was very annoying.
I was hoping that you release Arthur, but the forum went down.
Does that means you have start over again?

I can't wait for Arthur to be released.  He's going to be to team Capcom what Captain America was to the Avengers when they thawed him out of ice.  I love how he jumps the same way he did in the original game, simply amazing work.

...When he's beaten does he revert to his birthday suit?

I will ask the question again since it wasn't answered in the last forum. What are the big difference between all 3 weapons in terms of gameplay? They look like for the most part play exactly the same. Is there some advantages and disadvantages to each weapon?

Acey, your arthur will be a wonderful release for sure when you are ready. I was wondering if there will be a stage made in his honor for the EoH project, and whether or not he might get a special intro with TGM's Firebrand since both are going to be in the game. I guess you could just add such a intro later in a future update, just a thought I had. Anyway I look forward to him and just take your time with him, and never give in to the pressure that others might put on you. Good luck Acey ;D

Acey, I can't imagine how long it took you and Sludge to bring Arthur up to the stage of development he is at now. You have done a fantastic job on him with those sprites. Also, I see barely anybody has congratulated Sludge yet, when he deserves as much credit as Acey. Sludge, I can see that you have done a fantastic job on helping Acey with creating Arthur. I congratulate both of you, and hope to see more in the future to come. He will turn out to be an astoundingly great character, I'm sure!

Exactly. I see absolutely no difference other than  speed of throw.

The difference in the torch should be obvious, but what difference are you expecting between the ax and the lance? (Serious, i'll listen in on for suggestion's)

My opinion:

Ax ~ Slower than the lance but does more damage and is thrown up into the air and forward.

Lance ~ Moves faster than the Ax, but weaker and is thrown straight forward.
