How to make a transition blur.

Making a transition blur is actually quite easy, first, you need a sprite you want to give the blur to:



and the sprite just before that:



then, draw a path, in the direction you imagine the weapon/ body went in making it smaller the further away from the weapon's current position:



Then, basing the colours of the weapon/ Body part. make the shading darker the further away it is from the weapon/body part, in semi-equal parts, with a smaller amount for the further away it is.



two transition blurs may sometimes work better:



and your done.


(I'd show a gif, but I'm too lazy.)

This is my first tutorial, if it's not very clear, tell me and I will elebarate.
