Red Faction: Guerrilla
« on: June 13, 2009, 12:17:40 AM »

This game is an action game that takes place on Mars. A guy travels from Earth to Mars in hopes of working with his brother, but quickly finds that his brother has been doing something else entirely. Basically, the brother is part of a resistance that wants to fight an army called EDF that has come from Earth to basically.. idk.. take over... make Mars more civilized... The brother actually dies in the beginning of the game (how lame is that right...) and your character goes pretty ballistic... Joins the resistance and kicks some @$$...

This game mixes GTA with all other kinds of destruction games... but you can actually destroy buildings in this one... oooo shocker... finally one of those in a while... Long story short.... this is a DEMOLITION, DESTRUCTION, DESTRUCTION DERBY kind of game... You blow $h1t up... that's the purpose of it...
(click to show/hide)

Categories I would put this game in: Free-Roam, Third Person Shooter, Demolition

The game has a quite large space of 6 sectors in it. (I was lucky enough to get passed the 4th before I had to return it...)

I really liked this game... but... you will find that once you get to the Oasis sector... like... it warps into f'n expert difficulty... You will go somewhere and expect to blow 5 buildings up... you will only blow up 1-3 each time you're somewhere...

I never really played the other Red Faction games, but seeing this one.. I might at least try out the 2nd one when I get time
(click to show/hide)

If you're looking to kick things up and notch, and feel like blowing $h1t up (like BRIDGES!) then at least rent this game... for a normal person who plays console games, but not too much... I'm sure you'll make it to the 3rd or 4th sector before you return it...

 ::salute::

If you play this game the way it was intended to be played, and on the hard difficulty, this game is completely and utterly fricking AMAZING. For those of you that have played it, imagine if they made the new Terminator game like this instead of the cheesy stupid game that they put out. My God that would have been awesome. Anyways, OUTSTANDING game, and I highly recommend it to anyone that likes awesome games.

Yea this game rules it is the only game released to date that not only carries out Complete and utter destruction but it carries it into multiplayer perfectly. Not even Crysis was able to do that. Even in DX10 destructible environments lagged crysis on multiplayer so everyone turned it off.

I tried the demo and really liked it, but not enough to spend $60 on it. :/ I think my main turn off is the fact that its 3rd person.

Another cool thing about this game is that if you go into the options and switch the control scheme to option 2, it will make the controls similar to Gears of War where the left trigger is your fine aim. In my opinion, it's way better like that than having to click the joystick in to aim.

Yea Atice most games out on retail for the 360 and PS3 cost $59.95 which is about $62-$63 after tax. Why do you think the 360 is notorious for pirating?

haha... same thing goes for the PC... Most of the people I know online who play my type of games, at least, download the games... but not for the 360... I wouldn't bother modding the 360... I'd rather wait till the new copy of a game goes down to $30 or $35... or if the used copy goes down to $10-$15...

I have been enjoying the demo of this game immensely. They really aren't kidding when they say that you can destroy almost everything.

That's only for the starting sector your'e in (Parker). Each sector looks different throughout the game, which I'm glad they did because that red does become a little overwhelming over time.

Like the  ^^(PM)^er said... Everything is red in the 1st sector, but everything looks normal in the ones afterward... except I think the free fire zone is mostly brown or something... lol...
