Any image file can be saved as a .PNG/.JPG or anything of that sort there is no base requirement to have to go by before saving them as those file types. But people like to use strictly Hi-res type of pics for .PNG as it has the  best quality. So renders/Avys/sigs/banners/wallpapers stuff of that sort would more then likely saved in .PNG. But like I said any picture can be saved in just about any filetype with no problem as long as it is of course a filetype associated with images.

well nvm i've done mine case close pls
