"Are you asking for a challenge?!"
« on: December 12, 2008, 08:59:14 PM »
So, I've been wandering around this board for some time, and there are some decently quality stages, some good quality stages, some excellent stages... and as far as I know rarely a bad stage. It's like new members don't really want to take a risk. I mean, sure, on other "bigger" MUGEN sites there are a lot of bad stages, but then again, on those places you really shouldn't want to go, since these people will often act like huge asses.

But here, people at least try to nuance their opinions. If it's not great, they're honest, but not cold. And it works motivating for people.

So, what would be fun to do here? A contest of some sort, perhaps, at least for stage creators. It's the easiest thing to do, everyone basically can make their own stages. It has been done a year ago, the Super Deluxe MUGEN STAGE WARS, but since the MUGEN branch of that site has been cancelled, we shouldn't really expect another one from them any time soon.

So, why not host one specially for the IMT forum goers? Just something fun, no prize attached or something, and easy, simple challenges, so that people wouldn't really have a reason not to enter. Perhaps once in a while a bigger challenge, for the ones who are looking for some challenge.

Simple challenges would be things like, stages with as theme "open plains" or "water". More challenging challenges would be things like "open planes" or "water melons", I don't know, perhaps stages that fit a certain fighting game group, like "MvC styled" or "Guilty Gear styled". Like I said, it's just for fun, and it helps stage creators get some more skills and such. Plus, it would add to the already big choice of stages.

So, anyone up for one?

When we:

1) decide that we're going to do at least one challenge (but hopefully more);
2) pick the theme of the challenge.
