HE'S OUT NOW!!!! :) Kick off your 4 of July celebration, with Team Spoiler, and our 1 year birthday event, begining with Sniper Joe!



I started this project a while ago. This is the first character ive ever made, though he's not 100% he's ready for the public to try him out.  There are still lots of moves I want to put in to make him intresting, and I may have to re do some sprites eventualy but I want public feed back, he's been cooped up in my harddrive for too long.
If it werent for Infinity and everyone here who saw a sprite I made for my sig, and encouraged me to make it into a character, this never would have happend. Heck I had to redo most of the stuff in code I tryed to figure out by putting it all on the MVC eoh template, with some mods ofcorse.  Susan Mugen and Alexziq fixed allot of where I screwd up, added a bunch of stuff for me, Alex even edited my voice for me with some neet effects.

Congrats on your character release.  I just played around with him.  I like the sprite work you have done.
The modified voice/laugh is funny, I like it.  The Motor Bike with the Wily symbol is cool too, that must have taken a while.
Here is a couple things I found while playing around with him.
He doesn't have a jumping light punch, which make aircombo's hard to do. The AI seems to lock up also sometimes.
For the grenade maybe have three different spots to throw with each of the three kicks?

Sorry no Crashman today.  He is still being coded and not ready yet.  I never said he would be released today.

Well I just realized that sometimes that triggers, because he still has block push in there. If it becomes a real problem we'll take that out.
Intro stuck in air  /:O Ide have no idea why that happend, but like alexziq said, we will find the bugs yall mention and fix them.

Im glad yall like him so far, and dont worry, everything you say will be concidered when uprgading Sniper Joe here.

I really like the personality you give this guy, not to mention that this guy is really an old school character!  8)

Time for some feedback:

- I know he his supposed to "autoblock" when not moving due to his shield (character thing and whole), when it happens he "freezes" up and locks up, only a push block breaks it up... But I have a hunch this is the idea due to his roots from the old games (That's the strategy he used there)

- Seems logical that his strikers take up a little from his super bar, but why does the grenade toss cost super meter? (It's a but useless tbh if it does)

- He seems to be missing a frame here and there..

Besides (and the no jumping lp Laspacho already mentioned) that I really like what you did.. spriting obviously took you a while and I love his personality! ::salute::

Ya know thats a good point on the grenade, mew had it coded, and I re-did it without checking the trigger, thats my bad if Mew didnt want it that way.

LOL my bad too, cuz I went in and tweeked all the power drain/add levels on everything, and I might have added that to the gernades by mistake.

In addition to his air LP not working at all, his HP, LK and MK air attacks will not work if he is moving forward or backwards. This makes air combos relatively short. Also, the auto-chase when landing the Crouch HK is a little annoying at times, specially when I'd rather not follow. The Shield Breaker Hyper does the same amount of damage as the normal shield breaker. Speaking of the Shield breaker special, the LK version does next to nothing in damage, and even takes away the opponents super meter, albit the same amount though.

But I have to say, for you first character, well above par. SJ is well on his way to being right up there with Megaman himself. Looking forward to the progress.  :)

BTW, we need a Sniper Joe Smiley with his eye moving back and forth!

Well the sheild beraker is a unique kind of attack.
Its more effective version someone who is blocking then someone who isnt.
It got very low power on a normal hit, but its block is higher, like say 15 for the normal hit but yet 50 for blocking.
Its susposted to help agaisnt freaking people with turtle tatics

OK that defently needs to be fixed, cuz you shouldnt be able to do that

I've did about 250 hits!

lothats weird, I cant get him to do anything more then an 8 hit combo on anything.... But yea were defently going to have to fix that glitch, cuz a 250 combo is redonkulus

Congrats Spidermew for your official first release in the community...
now my feedback:
*SJ can be killed by cheap damage if the opponent starts spamming special at his back,and when he`s killed,the lose pose glitches and starts going off-screen(it goes up as a matter of fact,i cannot see SJ win pose)
*He`s invincible while walking back...he has no collision box while moving back.
He`s also cannot be hit when using the sniper buster(any level,i can post a screenshot on those ones if you want)
*I suggest you guys to take a little look at the debug messages that appear in my screens...some of them are not significant bug wise,but some might be
*Sniper Bike is a level 2 hyper when you have 2 bars or more,but at level 1,but using QCB+2K,you still can perform the hyper move

Jumping fwd/back+Kick/Punch doesn`t hit or get hit either,look:

Let's see...

-   I don't like the fact that once you launch your opponent, you high jump automatically without any input.

-   If 'Shield Breaker' hits the opponent, they recover much too quickly.  Try changing it to where it knocks down the opponent.

-   'Combo Rush' pushes the opponent too far for it to finish properly.

-   'Sniper Joe Rides' can be done with either punches or kicks.

-   If he's hit during his taunt, the laugh still continues.

I look forward to him after you guys fix him up a bit.  Good concept for a character.

Thanks for the feed back everyone. I cant beleve I missed some of those boxes. LOL I cant tell you how meny times i checked stuff like that and adjusted animation speeds. Thanks for point everything out, we'll do our best to fix eveything before we add anything new to him.

Congrats to your first release. Its a nice idea. But can I give you some advices?

You char need some work here:

1- Intro: It floods the debug screen with "no parent". Some people thinks this is "debug nonsense", but its not. Lookint at your char, I've found this lost part of code:

2 - Still on intro: If you took a look, your char will appear offset for some frames. And the flames must be quicker.

3 - invalid state: Why you're making him change to state 140? There is no state 140 on mugen

And I've noticed that all your guarding states are screwed up. You need to work more there.

3- Anims: many anims are kind weird, like 200,430,450 (his shield is lower than the floor), 1000 (his arms are weird).

i can only get 2 hits MAX when i launch an opponent. he cant combo on the ground well unless in crouch position. his shield move causes sounds in my mugen to break up and crack. the hyper where he jumps on the motorcycle type thing is too long (you should try to speed it up a lil then when he hops the thing goes forward past the opponent have that count as a hit too even on a downed opponent. his qcf + kk hyper is too weak. maybe u could make it multi-hitting for more damage. also his fireballs dont even have to fully reach the opponent to hit them

Ok, three major beefs with Sniper Joe that do need attention.

1. Like KPT25 said, he can't be hit when he fires Sniper Buster, or even when he activates the move.

Behold exibit A.



That is when he is right about to fire it off, so once he starts the move, you can't even stop him from firing that shot.

2. The concept for the auto-guard makes sense, very true to Sniper Joe. Only problem is, he gets stuck in it.

Behold exibits B & C.





Notice the area is purple, not blue. When he gets stuck in either of these poses, which tends to happen often, the AI will not push guard at all. Plus, since you can't grab him when he's in auto-guard, the only way to hit him is with an Muteki (unblockable) move. EX: ChAoTiC Megaman's lvl 3 "Mega-Misogi"

3. I noticed he's missing a few air-hit animations, but more importantly, he can't be air comboed.

Notice there is no clsn decection, so he's invincible until he lands, so if you knock him into the air, it won't do any good to chase.

So overall, excellent sprite work, coding, not so much. but again, I see good things in SJ's future.
