Really dumb Noob question, what ever
« on: March 27, 2008, 05:15:01 PM »
Whats the different in Spriting styles? CvS, MvC, Form what i know it the look of the sprites from a given game. But people use the CvS(I may have said the wrong style.) To discribe a Scorpion WIP. To me those sprite look like the normal live action sprites from a regular MK game.

CvS < Random character name here> = Cartoonish like sprited character with multiple Grooves

MvC < Random character name here>  = Cartoonish like sprited character "Maybe" with cross chain combos and Air Rave Combos

Actually it may refer to the play style of the character.

They could be talking about the gameplay.

Cvs, MvC, Snk, or KoF style..

It doesnt really mean that the sprites are from that particular series.

Difference in spriting stlye usually refers to the shading. The two that come to mind immediatley are Capcom and SNK. SNK has alot of different color blend, while Capcom's stlye is a bit simpler in shading. Personally, as a spriter I perfer the Capcom style because it's a little easier to emulate. :)
