Title: Music (not a contest)
Post by: Acey on November 11, 2007, 02:39:19 AM
We are looking for musicians who would like to see their work published as a part of the MvC project. We appreciate those who have contributed so far and if possible we'd like to make the entire soundtrack consist of new music. If you have any material you’d like to submit (to be used as background music to some of the stages) then this is the place to let us know.

Music submissions due by Dec 1, 2007.

This is your chance not only to be a part of the greatest Mugen project of 2007 but to also have your music published in a game, which becomes a great resume builder. Excelsior!

Is a cello welcome?

Actually, in all honesty I could play my cello for some tunes in the game, I just don't know if people would rock out to it like say.... a guitar.

Acey, PM if you're interested, I don't want to write, then play a bunch of music and then have it rejected.

My biological father is a part of a band that has a punkish, heavy metal style. He's told me being a part of projects would be real cool. I might tell him about this and direct him here, if that's alright.

We're looking for full tracks as stage music, so yeah, that would be cool if we could get some good quality recordings.

Is there a certain type of music you are leaning towards? like Guilty Gear had heavy metal, Third Strike had the jazz/trip hop thing going on, Marvel Vs. Capcom 1 had the nostalgia vibe with the midi music, and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 had the jazzy lounge singer stuff.

Feel free to use stuff like Aerosmith in your own mugen but as far as the project is concerned, we're staying away from midi music and focusing on music that fits the feel of the game.

Hello, I'm dl316bh's friend. I play guitar and piano, and I have FL Studio 7(an audio creation software) on my computer. : D

I was wondering, for some stages, like the ones that are set in the future, could it have a tech-rock feel to it?

And do you want original compositions, or remakes of themes, or both?

Also, I'm not the best with drums, so if someone does play drums, maybe we could add that to the track. And bass. Hmm. Maybe dl316bh's father's band could help with that, too.
Title: Re: Music (not a contest)
Post by: Acey on November 14, 2007, 10:55:05 PM
Techno-Rock is very appropriate... We're looking for original music, but these can be used from other stuff, like using a street fighter melody and making something new.

You know, Let me record and upload some drum tracks for people to play with.

Post by: dl316bh on November 16, 2007, 12:33:40 AM
Hmm. Not a bad beat for certain, but I'm not sure something like that would be fitting for a fighting game. Of course, that's just me.

Sounds like music that might have been in a Vectorman game though. Kinda 16-bit in style, if that makes sense. XD

Usually, when I think of fighting games and the sort of music they should have, I think of guitars, rock and roll and heavy metal. Like, Dave Mustaine style guitar solo's.

Of course, perhaps that's the metalhead in me. I call myself the Metal God for a reason.

Hey, just saw this topic.
I would like to contribute, but, I'm still learning how to use FL studio 7...I mainly got it to compose music for some of my projects...
I'll try to learn all I can, and, try to make a track, and, see how it is... <_<|...|

Eh never sounded like credit music to me. It seems too upbeat for that. Hip-hop and Rock seems a little too mainstream. Like what if there is a forest stage or something and using a hip hop or rock track doesnt fit?  :P

This is a track from my group's upcoming LP on Project Blowed/Bell Rang Records.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/61967077e237e6/

It is called "Oil Spill" and I currently have it playing as the background music for Rikuo & Namor's stage in my mugen game, so perhaps there is a place for it in Rikuo's stage on EOH.

If used, just credit us. My group is called Thirsty Fish  <_<|google|

I uploaded some music that I use in my mugen. You guys might find a use for it in EOH, as I remember you saying that you were going for a hip hop or rock sound. It's all in .ogg format (as mugen seems to have an easier time with .ogg than with .mp3 if you have the plugin) but it should open in winamp just fine, and converting to .mp3 is simple too.

I hope you guys might find this helpful!
