Title: THE CHANGING FACE OF MUGEN
Post by: Ryo Hazaki on March 17, 2017, 06:16:15 PM
Hey everyone, just random thoughts about what the Steam release of UMvC3 could mean to MUGEN. It seems the PC community is getting up to speed in modding characters. Although 2D sprites will always have a place in our hearts, one can see modding next-gen mahvel games as a growing trend. The potential for mods are limitless, remakes of favorites and who wouldn't want to see Omega Red,(http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters2/omegared-victory.gif) Ruby Heart(http://www.fightersgeneration.com/np6/char2/anims/rubyheart-charging.gif) and BB Hood (http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090904190043/capcomdatabase/images/d/dd/BBHoodAnimation.gif)end the round in a hyper combination finish!

As of this writing, the games sounds and voices can be modded. @ WizzyWhipitWonderful, a work of yours was modded into the game - and to all MUGEN voice actors out there? Would you be willing to add your voiceovers to the game? Something similar to the announcers in MvC1 or MSH vs SF please  ^:)^
After playing the PC port I'm in ABSOLUTE awe of the creators that brought and are bringing MvC3 characters to 2D.  =D> However it very well could be a sea change in the direction of MUGEN. For example, would creators focus solely on UMvC3 or MvC INFINITE? Well, i've rambled on enough, just wanted to get that off my chest  :-SS. So what are your thoughts on the subject?

Hi Wizzy, the UMvC3 pc song files can be modded. Here's an example of a user using a creation of yours: https://www.reddit.com/r/mahvelmods/comments/5yjfyh/looped_cps2_styled_victory_theme_by/:

Presently, I'm using the MvC1 soundtrack for most of the Marvel Characters.

It's nothing new. Stuff like this has been around since Smash Bros. Brawl and Street Fighter IV. M.U.G.E.N isn't something that needs to be constantly updated or relevant. It's a hobby.

The difference between modding and M.U.G.E.N is that a modded game confines you to the limits of the game engine, and can't be fully modified. M.U.G.E.N allows you to change almost everything about it, thus giving you borderline unlimited creative freedom. 2D graphics aren't going to disappear for awhile longer, but I can see it happening. It's just that the M.U.G.E.N community hasn't grown or disappeared over the years. Everything is still the same as it was before, with the exception of websites that host M.U.G.E.N creations having shut down over time.
