Title: 1.1 problem
Post by: shastab24 on August 07, 2013, 03:10:55 AM
I downloaded 1.1 today and tried to load it, but already have a problem I hope to find a solution for.  I copied the text below from the last line of the error message that closed MUGEN when I tried to run it, as it is the only one that said "failed" and therefore must be the problem:

Initializing graphics...gameCoord 640x480...render mode 2_20...trying 640x480x32 mode 0x0...failed.

It did this in high res, too, which is why I changed it to 640x480, especially because that's the only size my tiny laptop screen allows, anyways (I have 1.0 in that size).  So, I was wondering if people might know how to fix the problem.  Hopefully it's not that my computer is too old to run the program.

Try changing the video mode in mugen.cfg from opengl to system. It won't have all the features, like the 32bit display or the zooming, but it'll run. Or should, i had the same issue and it was only resolved on a PC upgrade.

Well that sucks.  I already have MUGEN 1.0 on my computer.  I got 1.1 to run its features (specifically the RGB sprites, so I could use every character that people make).

At least they're separate, though, and on the same device (a flash drive, so I can use MUGEN on whatever computer is most convenient, most often my laptop), so should I ever get an updated computer, I'll be able to run 1.1.
