Post by: O Ilusionista on January 09, 2012, 05:14:57 PM
I know there are some sites which can rip videos from Youtube, but I don't like that way.

Here is what I use:

WINDOWS:

The best tool I've found is Atube Catcher

Download videos from social web sites like MySpace™, Dailymotion™, Megavideo™, Yahoo™!, Metacafe™, Spike™, "that kind of video sites", Yahoo!™, Glob™o, RTVE™, etc; thousands of video sharing sites!; You can export the multimedia content to your computer or your mobile device, IPAD, IPOD, PSP, GPS devices, MP4 Players, Cell Phone, Android devices, DVD, VCD, MP3, Iphone. Plenty of formats supported including 3GP, 3G2, AVI, XVID, MP4, MP3, MP2, WMA, WMV, GIF, FLAC, WAV, PSP, MPG, VOB, OGG, MOV, AVI. aTube Catcher also can burn in DVD/VCD your videos without use any other third party software. Among other features has a built-in Screen Recorder to capture what you see on your screen, even video chat sessions from Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, DVD movies,Webinars, Online Meetings, etc, or just create video/audio presentations. All those features and more!. 100% Freeware, safe and clean!. Multilanguage interface.

MACINTOSH, LINUX and WINDOWS

The best option is xVideoServiceThief, for MAC and Linux. The windows version is good too, but I prefer Atube.

xVideoServiceThief (a.k.a xVST) is a tool for downloading your favourite video clips from a lot of video websites (currently supports 93 websites and increasing!).

xVideoServiceThief also provide you the ability to convert each video in most popular formats: AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, WMV, MP4, 3GP, MP3 file formats.

Total websites supported (http://xviservicethief.sourceforge.net/index.php?action=information#listServices) (13/08/2011): 93

Now, if you don't want to use any program, you can download videos from www.keepvid.com (http://www.keepvid.com). It can even download high definition videos with good speed.

Atube does the same (you can get 1080i videos) and can convert it automatically.

I download videos and convert them to my dingoo and works like a charm. Also, its how I get music for my stages, in many cases.
