I don't know why but for some reason..Cable and Captain America won't die during battles their life keeps restoring...anyone know whats causing this for me? I'm using 1.0 and I set them to hard ai.

No. Thats a new one,I've never had that problem.

Never mind guys. I fixed it by installing the cmd file off their old versions, there was something up with the Hard Cmd file..that was off.

These are Mugen 1.0 now so don't go changing the files around, Kong's original version required you to change the CMD file for AI but now you don't need to do that anymore. You can just change the AI settings in the games options.

I wish there were more 1.0 characters. With the AI option I can finally fight Dragon Claw, he's still tough, but now its fun. It'd be nice to see the same for more chars (like Broly for example).

I reallly wanted to give this character a try and i actually did, and it plays really nice. I can't understand why im constanly hearing ugly stuff about just about every where i go about (Kong) characters been so bad and this and that. I don't know if people really have a problem with him and that's why they always puting his creations down or they really have a point with that they saying, that Kongs character been very buggy and stuff. I can't tell my self bc this my first Kong character that i've try.

It's just rumors that get started then people pile on - I think the original rumors started because people said that his chars weren't 100% accurate & there not - The bashing just grew from there but is unwarranted - Kong has contributed a lot & his sprite sheets & chars are open source @-)

Thanks Nick. Kong is awesome, a great programmer, a great innovator and he released over 40 characters over the course of a year and a half. He also provided sprite rips for hundreds of fight game characters. He programmed things into mugen that no one else had ever done before.

I've always thought Kong's characters were good. The things I don't like about them are: I don't like his choice of pause times because it feels like your punching air instead of an actual opponent. His AI is insanely cheap to fight against. Last, I don't like the combo set up when you hit the same attack button twice, meaning how it goes from high attacks to low attacks. It's kind of MvC3-ish in the sense that it makes comboing too easy considering it's all ready extremely easy to do a combo like that by just pushing down after the first hit, it doesn't need to be easier than that. Other than those tree things, I like his characters a lot. I like all the new hypers he made for his characters too, especially the ones he did for Colossus. Also, his Venom is my favorite Venom to use after making a few minor tweaks, and I mean minor.

The great thing about Kong's AI now though is that it's absolutely perfect in Mugen 1.0 so they no longer fight like an 8 year old dominating at Evo.

It's funny you say that, cause I always felt like the 8 year old infant getting beat on by a mocking and cruel computer leaving me crying in tears of frustration (not really). I'd always hear the old voices of my mom saying "If it makes you that mad, just turn it off." She doesn't understand the need for having to seek vengeance and reclaiming of honor though, yet it was never achieved. Yeah, it is by far way better now in 1.0, that is for sure.

I'm pretty sure you are, but are you referring to the high to low attacks with the double pushing of an attack button? If you are, thanks for showing me that as I'm going to try that out right now.

I remember going through all of the Kong chars in EoH and removing those "auto combos" for the public release to make sure the chars were all formatted, that too a long time... 2010, ok, not that long ago.

The original has a shield, you must be talking about someone else's version of Capt America.

nvm, i used that tag team mvc project stuff on your download page, i figured out how to make the characters do damage (after the fact that they werent doing any damage after the patch) but captain america seems to just lose his shield when patched, but hes normal when unpatched. im no big mugen script guy so im not sure if its just a compatibilty problem.

There is a bug in the wining pose "Freedom prevail" cap rises his arm but the shield stays down and the hand, where shield be the shield, shines...

There are some Kong characters I dont care for, but I always liked his cap. It's the most fun to play, and I thought it looked better than the other couple caps. Looks even better now.

Absolutely love this character except for one thing, for some reason, he can't die. Any hit that triggers death instead heals him.
*UPDATE: Okay, he cannot die when using the MVC2_CaptainAmerica_Hard.cmd file as opposed to the medium or easy versions. I'm all for difficult AI but that seems a tad extreme.
