How do you set transparency in The Gimp for these type of files without totally ruining the colors?
I am clueless with this  :-?? -->  ~X(

When you make a new file for anything in gimp, you can hit the more optoins on that menu that comes up asking how big you want the image and you can set the background to transparency there.

It`s transparent as long as the background color of the newer layers is white right? Gimp is a pain to use, but can`t get better till you practice lol, thanks SpiderMew, will try that out

Each layer has to have been made on a transparent backround, if you have the background white on any of them, you wont have transparency in the gif.

Do you mean form them separately and save em with transparency enabled already?

 hmm, how can you open up an existing pic and make it transparent... can you merge the layer with the background and maybe that will help?

PS~ How do you make the shiny white line or shadow appear beneath the avy? I`m afraid my brush seems to have lost color or something as it only paints regular MS Paint esque circles instead of the multicolor goodness that was sparks lol

Basicly, i guess.

To do this you eather have to coppy/paste the image into a new blank pic with transparency and manualy erase the background or you can make the background pink and use fighter factory, but this is more complacated.

 :D You know, the eraser tool, you can make it as big as you want just like using the pencle tool, and you erase the background, but make sure youve pased your image onto a new image thats already transparent.
