How delete bg layer

I want delete the bg layer in ripped sprites of capcom vs snk pro (PAL) To add cvs histspark in mugen game (I use epsxe or pc game version)

The people who have done this have as far as i know made use of a program called artmoney. They have found the BG element and turned it pink. I don't actually know how to do this one on purpose.

In this case, i'd find a character that's using them (POTS has actually released the CVS2 sparks as a pack) and ask if you can have them. They may also already be ripped and up for download. The path you want would probably teach you a lot, but it ain't gonna be easy.
