Well , I figured since I am part of the IMT team I had to make some small contribution to the release party . So here he is . Some of you may not even know of his existence . This is my first character . But he has been tweaked & fixed .

Some tweaking just to make him play a little better . Plalette issue is all fixed . The new stance included . The extra mode that he had is gone since it just really didn't do much . That will be expanded on one day though .

Nice Character - im about to try him out right now. Now all we need now is an entire spiderman mugen. Will the stage also be downloadable soon?

Well theres some palette issues fixed too. I wanted to fix that bug in the Demonic, I just figured someone at IMT would. I could post a patch sometime in the week. I dont think the move was finished so I may just disable it for now, unless I'm wrong about that.

Does this mean that Hobgoblin is in the EOH roster? If that's the case, then the hood and cape should be redone a bit, so that they can blend in better with the MvC sprite style he has.
I think the stage is for Wolvenom :-??
What made you say that, the BIG HONKING BATTLE BETWEEN SYMBIOTIZED CHARACTERS (which I would very much like to see in EOH)? :P

This update had a lot of fine tuning to him . How did you get the demogoblin ? I thought I fixed that & took that out until finished

It's the only stage I have on my testing mugen . Which should fill you all in on it :thumbsup:

I have that stage...it's called "the end", but this one looks edited with symbiotes

In case the author hasn't read my reply, I should say that the sprites of Hobgoblin should be a little more polished.
That said, I wonder when we'll see that Magneto symbiote... :O*D

Arellon made it & gave me permission to do what I wanted to do . Unfortunately there was a mix up & it was leaked early .
But it will be better fit for the character when I am finished with it

I actually use that stage for Thanoseid, but your version with the symbiotes will give everyone a Wolvenom stage and that was a perfect stage to go by...congrats! :thumbsup:

Feedback/Bugs:
- Big portrait is too big.
- Small portrait has the wrong colors .
- WHAT?! After pressing the "down" button several times Hobgolin takes over the control and starts to do specials and hypers /:O
- the Punch doesn't have hitsound.
- Strong Kick in the corner is = infinite

- The smoke on the poison attack is misaligned.
- the "explosion" effect on the pumpkin rocket attack (lol) is misaligned.
- All his attacks do too much damage.
- After he's hit and falls on the ground he falls of his "board"(?) But when he stands up the board dissapears and is then on his normal position, It doesn't look good IMO, try animating it or make the board teleporting to Hobgoblin.
- Clsn's and Hitboxes are pretty bad done on some sprites (mostly on attacks)
- He gains power by doing supers/hypers.
- The hyper bg doesn't appear when doing some supers/hypers.
- The sound of the taunt should stop when performing attacks and such IMO.
- If you jump on the smoke from that Poison-Pumpkin-Bomb (lol) You will fly up in the sky after that.
- Doing strong punch in front of the opponent doesn't hit.
- Why does Hobgoblin move back (Which doesn't look really good sadly) while performing that hyper that Hobgoblins board attacks you.
- When hobgoblin still makes hitsounds even if he misses his first attacks In that hyper that he flies up in the sky and attacks you.
- The fire while dashing doesn't follow Hobgoblin, or is that intended?
...Well this character has really good ideas (moves wise)
But it needs more work, Is this a beta?
And lol at the msn sounds at the intro xD

Yeah, I was gonna post my thoughts on it, but he pretty much nailed everything above.
It feels like it is still in very early stages of development.
The moves and ideas are there, I mean that intro where he flies in is fantastic, and his moves make sense.
But things like when a pumpkin bomb on the ground blows up and the explosions goes of at chest level, or that his punch has to hitsound, etc. kinda show it still needs work.
This is still a big step up from before.

One thing that strange too. When you press up it put him into a flight mode. When you press down after it wont go into a duck animation. You actually have to drop back down in order to duck. It wouldnt be a big deal but any time you press ups it just automatically happens
Theres also 2 blacks in the palette used for shading that are used in some similar sprites. In some of the intro sprites, and super sprites you notice shading goes from pitch black to charcoal shaded because one was shaded with one black, and the next one used the lighter black. Its not unusual for that to happen. For a quick fix you could just make the 2 black tiles the same color.

Dude thats uncalled for, not everybody is an MVC Nazi, and a lot of those sprites are Acey edits. And lets not start with the IMT cant handle feedback crap. It's how that feedback is conveyed that people get annoyed with.

I'll tell you what . let me check out your sprites so I can compare them to Hobgoblin . This way maybe I can see what good sprites look like & fix mine to your specifications .

Tell you the truth I had no idea what I was doing with adding sprites to a sff file , palettes or anything else . So Hobgoblin has kind of been a mess for awhile . Ask alexziq even minor changes to this character take forever . Because one minor change in anything means you have to spend hours fixing other things .
He gets improved as time goes on . So I'm just sharing the latest update with you guys . I never said he was perfect , & MFP gave me good feedback of things to fix in the future . Slowly , but surely these things will be taken care of mentioned . But Hobs is not my top priority . He'll always just have a special place for me because he was my first character . So I do take time to mess with him here & there .
Next update may be a year from now , though

Actually, I don't have any sprites. It's just that I think Hob's design is a little iffy is all. It's rather obvious, really.
But still, I understand that this was your very first character. I hadn't noticed that you had said that in the post you mentioned. It's not easy when you do something for the first time.
Anyway, I'll be awaiting the next update he'll get.

Violator is coming along . I have no base & I am spriting him on blank pages . He's my first totally original character . , so he is going take quite some time

Ah yes. That's what I'm talking about. This Hob Goblin plays a lot better now. I like how you made him auto jump with the character as you launch him/her. I'm not sure if you had it like that before, but I can definitely combo with him a lot better now. Also, I like his new look a lot. It's subtle, but effective. Rock on. :w00t:

As promised, feedback:
- The mini select pic is messed up, as others have said
- The overall attack power of Hobby seems a bit low. I checked in FF and it was set to 120. I upped it to 150, which seemed to be a fair level.
- The Hyper where Hobby rams his craft into you gets kinda monotonous after waiting for 30 hits at such low damage. Might I suggest lowering the combo hits to 10 and just increase the damage rate?
- The Hyper where Hobby "skims" you with his craft sometimes misses too
- I like the incorporation of Hobby's vocal quotes from Spiderman TAS. Keep it up, the more the better
- His flying Hyper where he comes at you from off screen is amazing. Definitely haven't seen anything like that in MUGEN

As for the port , I think it was issues 15 & 16 of the Spiderman series that was McFarlane's . Hobby is more demonic in those . Which is why I used that portrait , So I like what I have . Thanx for the effort . Feel free to release the pcx file here for those who will want it :thumbsup:

No problem DT. The two biggest things by far for me which really hampered the enjoyment of the character was the too low damage per attack, and the one 30 hit special that just makes you sit there. If you can even just alter those, you have a winner.

No problem DT. The two biggest things by far for me which really hampered the enjoyment of the character was the too low damage per attack, and the one 30 hit special that just makes you sit there. If you can even just alter those, you have a winner.
You can actually cut that hyper off . I think you just hit your " A " button on a controller . That move is actually just a fill in . The glider is going to flame up into a demon & do something a little different .

The new stance is great and now is more different that the Green Goblin.

I put him on my Xbox roster this weekend & I agree that glider hyper is slow & actually somewhat ridiculous . It will be changed into what I originally wanted to make it one day . But that won't be until next year lol . I have so much that I want to create . Hobgoblin is really on the back burner . I just tinker with him when I am really bored . Which is not often .
