I'm assuming you don't have the roster set in stone right? The roster right now is looking decent I have to say, though not sure what your standards are for balancing out who's going to be in from which game and whatnot (as in, X amount from Street Fighter, etc. etc.). Am interested as to how custom states will be handled too, since well...I see several characters that can put characters into said custom states. Would be nice to see em make it in~

Truthfully there is no balance, At first i was just putting in characters that appeared in MVC2 plus extras that i liked. I wasn't expecting to have many characters that didn't have pre existing sprites because i don't know how to make original sprites.Sure!!! Thanks :)
My main goal was to have Devilotte and my two original boss characters in the game.
Ideally i'd like to add: Zero, Shoma Sawamura from rival schools, Fokker and Julia from power stone, Fiona from Haunting ground, Poison, and C. Viper.
I'm always open to adding other capcom characters though if people would like to contribute them. Some franchises are very underrepresented.

This is just my opinion, but there are far too many Street Fighter characters; I'm counting 21. You might as well call it 'Street Fighter vs The Rest of CAPCOM', because that's essentially what the roster is at this point. I'd suggest only having 5 SF characters at most, and 3 at minimum. Though again, it's just my opinion.
And I think you could add some other forgotten names rather then Ken, for example.

Yeah... only 1 original character, and 2/3rds of the roster is SF...
A few ideas?
- Teams, maybe three man cells. SFA / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 representation cuts SF down to a nice 15.
- More new characters. More series representation.

Joke was based on Macaulyn suggesting The apprentice from the force unleashed for that namco vs. nintendo game that'll never get made.
Some people eve agreed with him that he should rep namco, so I just said wolverine, cause he has as much to do with capcom as the apprentice does with namco.

What part of it is too dull i don't understand. I actually liked ingrid a lot. I'd love more New Characters, More series representation. I'd be happy to accept your donations. I've considered less street fighters but that would mean no Ryu, Ken, or Gouki. They would be the first to go.

Ingrid sucks. She is pretty bad. I never understood why Capcom bring exaclty the worst char from that game, and not DD, for example

Hmm, a 1940 stage could be really cool. Like your on one of the giant enemy ships an you can see it firing back at the protagonist planes. They could even fire back and have the stage take damage and whatnot.

I've been reading this thread heavily and I have questions & concerns about this. It's great that you decided to bring this back since I've been waiting for it ever since I played the demo. Since I'm working on a game documentation/folder about Capcom as well, I think I should share some of my comments about this. You don't have to take these into consideration at all, it's just a few ideas I have that isn't going to be use, I'll likely use.
QUESTIONS
1) I notice that you'll use MUGEN 1.0 for this game. Since that is likely depending on the recent images I've seen, are you going to use the 1.0 standard AI? By that, I mean are the characters will get harder when you change the difficulty & progress in the game?
2) The stage interactivity was the sure fire thing that gotten me into this project. Are you going to still use that for your Forgotten Sanctuary stage & other stages you have planned?
3) Are there going to be any special intros between fighters? Ex. Ryu vs Ken: *knuckle bump*
4) There are a lot of SF characters. Don't you think they're too many, especially ones that are too popular? I can understand Ryu, Chun-Li, Zangief, Karin & Yang but... is all of the others necessarily? If it's because of DHC(Dual Hyper Combos) then I can understand. It's just that with that many SF characters overshadowing the rest of the Capcom characters will make it seem like they're unimportant.
5) Are you going to make the palettes smooth in with both CPS2 sprites & CvS Sprites? Sinhra is going to do the same thing with their Capcom Fighting All-Stars project.
6) Will the gameplay be the same for all characters or are you going to implement a way to change it like Fido is doing with his Street Fighter MX characters?
7) Is their going to be a story behind all of this, like (insert recent cross-over title here) or are the characters going to have their own story?
COMMENTS
1) The roster seems decent so far. To me, there is too many SF characters & this is called "Capcom Fighting Revolution". It's a good thing you're taking people offer to use their characters to hopefully balance the roster.
2) Comparing the old lifebars & the new lifebars. I like the new ones better since they pop out more.
3) This is relevant to #2. I like how you made every characters lifebar have a different color & in 1-on-1 mode, they have the same color.
4) Devilotte being one of the playable characters? I don't know if that'll work, but if it's possible I would love to see it.
5) Both the stages & the special effects look amazing. But the hitspark don't really look good blending in with the BG of the hyper attacks IMO. It might be just me but they look wierd.
Besides the comments I put in dealing with the project, I'm still waiting for the full version of this and I won't be giving up on this anytime soon.

well i updated her sprite to get rid of the ugly black outlines and i'm pretty happy with how she turned turned out.That looks great. I never did like that outline either. It only made her sprite look more out of place in later games with her 2d sprite.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't see much difference in your Morrigan and the original one outside of having a green outline in her hair

He is also going to have the ability to catch and replicate everyone's projectile attacks like he could in vampire savior.
For instance if he catches a kikouken from chun li. He can shoot them back out

The Pharaoh magic super in my game burns, shocks, hits the opponent with a stream of meteors, petrifies, poisons,freezes, pretties them, before finally cursing them and then crushing them.

Still so curious as to how some of those sprites will look for some characters like Devilot and those that don't have them originally~Li-Kun(creator of CvS Hinata) is helping him make the sprites. You can see them on page 5 or 6 i think.
Ryu and Ken are straight ports from MSH vs SF except that Ryu looks like MVC1 Ryu, and Ken will be losing the ponytail.So with that said, you'll have the double Shinkku Hadouken implemented then.

I'd like to add Zero from TvC, And my friend is begging me to make Fiona from Haunting Ground, he's been a fan of the game for almost 7 years now. I told him though that you already have fiona in your game.
I'm also planning hidden characters that you'd be able to select by going off the select screen and inputting a certain command. Almost like a combination of Rival Schools 1 and MVC's hidden characters.
I actually do have a topic there, I just havent posted in it in a very long time.

I'm considering making her a WIP after I'm done with my knight char and cyberbots project (I'm not part of the project). There are a few sprites of her, need some proportion fixing sure, but the base is solid. I'm waiting for more of a commkunity responce.
About the stages, what you will be using?
Why don't you try to use some HR stages, like the ones used in CFJ? or something new, like with reallistic images?

I'm glad you feel that way. I really think that the style im going for represents a time that i think Capcom was at their very best.I all honesty, I like it like that anyway. It gives out a comic-book/cartoony feel but still keeps all the action needed.
